To be honest, most good casters, especially Artosis... ESPECIALLY Artosis, start talking about random things like ham being his favourite meat (ok, doesn't apply to vegetarian Artosis but you get my point), so it's stuff they do when they have no idea what to say I guess - killing time.

After the first couple of ships die and the incoming dps drops there is really nothing to commentate on.

Seventh Match – THE R0NIN vs Dirt Nap Squad. THE R0NIN – 1 Widow, 1 Basilisk, 1 Cyclone, 2 Harpies, 1 Sabre Dirt Nap Squad. – 2 Rattlesnakes, 2 Vengeances, 1 Kestrel The match started off poorly for Dirt Nap Squad with their frigates going down with the Rattlesnakes getting jammed. Neither team could do much for a while, but the Rattlesnakes were slowly whittled down, dying with only 7 seconds left on the clock. Fourteenth Match – No Holes Barred vs Team Liquid No Holes Barred – 2 Sleipnirs, 1 Oneiros, 1 Merlin, 1 Incursus, 1 Rifter Team Liquid – 3 Tengus, 1 Vigil Team Liquid begins by picking off the frigates of No Holes Barred. With no tackle left against them, Team Liquid mopped up the remaining Oneiros and Sleipnirs while barely taking any damage. Summary The second day of ATX saw more variety in setups than day 1, but with a lot of walkovers. Most notable was Team Liquid and Pandemic Legion, both living up to their reputations of gosu skills. Matches kick off the same time next Saturday (4PM BST, 11AM EDT), with teams playing round 2 of qualifiers. Source

I dunno, i found this one a nice cast ![]() When the match was decided at minute 7 or so, they started talking about other things, which is fine because theres only so often you can repeat that the tengus are continueing to shoot an oneiros which is slowly losing armor. If you watch a tastosis cast, they often ask each other stupid questions, like what superhero would you want to be, in the beginning of the match when therse nothing really else to say. I think youre just hatin ![]()

I don't play EvE but watched some of the matches and they were fairly entertaining. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the casters were completely idiotic. Talking about a bonjwa and "I read their forums for a bit and it didn't help my sc2 play" among other things. Seems like they just didn't know how to focus on the game and wen't off on random tangents. Glad I have a basic knowledge of EvE though since they never actually describe what anything is/what it does. I'm sure a random person hearing "scram, web, logistics, cap etc." would be busy googling the terms the entire match.

As a random person who doesn't know those terms, I was just watching the pretty missiles hammer into their seemingly stationary ships until their hp bars were gone. ![]()

On the other hand, since the casters are people I'd somehow expect to play the game themselves, please for the love of fk, they need to not consistently get names and specs on ships wrong.

Definitely target painters, for the synergy with their mighty missiles and probably the reason why the enemy frigs died that fast. Though since the Vigil gets a bonus to target painters, that should be no surprise.

Raivi is somewhat justifiable, as presumably he's been involved in some sort of successful PL internal setup testing. tl;dr -- what did you expect? dream commentator team -- some mix of: honorable samurai prometheus exenthal, tusker battallord suleiman, bitterking intigo, and our very own sergeant "they are truly awful" rl3 -- with cameos by fon revedhort and mercurial blood.
