Well obviously everyone is going to say the game is good, so I tried not to ask that question. When I ask if the game is worth playing, I mean am I too late to the party? As a BW fan, had someone asked me right before SC II launched if BW was worth getting into, I would say it's a great game, but it's maybe past its heyday. Same with Diablo II - awesome game, one of my favourites, but it's riddled with botting and duped items, it's best time was years ago. Eve Online seems pretty complex, so what I am curious about is what I can expect to do when I play. I've tried to look for this online, but the answers are usually pretty vague. As for joining The Hatchery and getting a mentor, that sounds really good. EDIT: Not supposed to be asking this stuff here - my bad. | ||

As for joining The Hatchery and getting a mentor, that sounds really good. EVE Online has been constantly gaining subscribers since it was launched, so you aren't too late to the party. As for what you can expect to do in EVE, there are a lot of things to do. In terms of PvP, we tend to fly nano fleets. Nano fleets rely on superior speed and maneuverability to isolate enemies and disengage when necessary. When you first start out, you will fly the Rifter, which is used to "tackle" enemy targets by shutting off their propulsion modules and preventing them from escaping. Rifters can be used to hold down enemies as we go in for the kill, or defensively to help get friendly ships out of danger. From there you can train for a bunch of different ships. For making money, most new guys start out by salvaging after other players in corp who run l4 missions. Basically salvaging involves looting the wrecks of the NPCs that are killed in the missions. From there a lot of people start running missions, which is basically killing pirate/opposing faction NPCs for NPC "agents" to get money; however, mission running has become less profitable recently due to some market changes. A lot of Hatchery members also do exploration for money, which is basically hunting down exploration "sites" which can drop valuable loot. There are also a lot of ways to make money on the market, but that usually takes a lot of capital to do effectively. | ||

Basically Chessur was trying to buy Caldari Navy standings from some noob, but the guy wouldn't share the standings unless chessur paid him first. So Chessur paid the guy and he left Chessur's fleet and immediately logged off. | ||

PVP can be an expensive activity, particularly when you're starting out. For many people, this is one of the major worries preventing them from getting involved in a life of PVP. In this post we're going to look at some of the popular methods for making isk as a PVPer, as well as how we can manage our costs to maximise the time we're able to spend PVPing.
