REALLY interesting move by WeMade FOX to take eSTRO/Hacker/Project, I guess being sponsored by Razer was a motive into taking them (and expanding onto the international scene).

Im amazed the CS scene is still alive these days, I thought it wouldve died out years ago. Do the pro's still play 1.6 or source?

1.6, it's the better game game-play wise.
Source competition wise is pretty much dead after it's largest supporter the CGS folded. It's more popular casual wise though.

CS is alive and doing great. With CGS dead, the source scene is in worse condition than SC for Europeans/Americans.

Wowowow. Between this and NaDa's recent performance maybe I need to switch my team back to WeMade.

yeah, just search eSTRO CS vs fnatic, SK gaming, mtw or roccat.

there are like 20 teams competing constantly in CS 1.6.
I am not good with quotes

No, he's still with IEG currently. They're an awesome team - excellently managed and very dominant here in Korea. I had the privilege of photographing them twice during their time with eSTRO and I hope to do so again - good luck to them.

Their manager is pretty close with Artosis/PR/NonY as he speaks pretty good English!

He's not gonna go to We Made Fox then? Guess IEG needs him ^ ^

This year is looking like it'll be a very exciting one for 1.6. With all the changes going on since CGS closed down, can't wait to see how it turns out.

Yeah ahha, but then again the CS community is full of immature e-thugs. It's surprising to see WeMade pick up eSTRO.CS and hopefully this will increase the players' salary? eSTRO did a fine job giving the CS team the ability to travel to many events, but then again most of them were paid trips due to winning many qualifiers.

Woop. I'm hoping cs stays alive and well :D (i just scrimmed like 10 times yesterday...it's fun to be back :D) Time to start supporting gotfrag again . (I'm curious whether EG [Probably the US's best 1.6 team] can really compete at the international level...I'm thinking yes.)

Top level competition in CS is pretty random since the skill gap is so close that any team can win on any given day. Gravitas (previously known as Turmoil and x3o) beat eSTRO twice in both ESWC 2007 and 2008 by a large margin (16-5 or something like that). American teams aren't really on the same level as the Europeans since most of the former CS 1.6 players are coming back from CGS and they need time to get back into shape. Right now, the Americans aren't really a threat, but x3o (previously known as Paragon of Virtue and they won against mTw in one of the ESL events) has been playing very well in American online leagues so far.

I sometimes watched pretty high level of CS... on Lans and on the I-Net.

And have to ask:
Is there anything more boring? :p.

All respect to the players but as a spectator sport it's really... ugh...

gotfrag was bought off by MLG and all the good writers and staff left. Only use for the site is hltv's, which you can get from hltv.org too. so that website is in pretty bad shape atm.

As far as I know because of the matchfixing in broodwar

matchfixing is the easy way out of explaining it
the most blunt reason is simply there was no financial benefit for the companies that sponsored these teams.
shame really, especially with the cs team. solo was such a sick player

i believe some players like solo, bail etc still play cs:o because nexon still have tournaments for it in korea but i don't think there's a market for cs:go in korea right now which is a huge shame as i'd love to see solo in the current meta

just imagine a korean dream team of enemy, solo, mal, glow and bail.
