Not only did they use the basic concept of what obsidian obviously hinted at during kotor 2 (if you use some completion mods that fill in all the content they had to remove due to LA wanting the game to be released early), they also raped the name kotor by making it an effing mmo with wow graphics (and I'm normally someone who doesn't give a shit about graphic I just hate the style). Plus they want me to pay like 15 bucks a month just to play this (lol). I do know that EA invested like 300 billion dollars into making this so I'm really looking forward to them going full FUUUUU mode when the game fails to deliver.

Sooo I just received a beta invite for this weekend ? How am I supposed to test a mmo in 2 days ??? Also how big is the download, if it's too large I'll pass I'm not slaughtering my bandwith for a 2 day test lol. And since I don't buy MMOs that I can't test well cya EA.

DL is around 24 GB, I think. So if you have a bandwidth limit for the month, it could be implausible for you to test.

does preordering get you a longer beta test? I got in the 2 days test but I'll have to agree, it seems way too short.

I have a 150G limit so 24G could be a possibility but 2 days is way too short and I have already felt ripped of by EA that I feel this would be one of those times with this game when things like that are thrown at me.

Oh well too bad, this is Skyrim weekend then.

It doesn't get you a longer beta, but it does give you early access. Any edition of the game has the potential for 5 days of early access. Early access is granted according to preorder registration number (you get a number with your preorder, go to swtor.com, and attach it to your account).

This way, you get to keep the toon you start during your early access.

General note: "beta weekend" isn't code for "free trial". It's a test, we are serving a purpose (and it isn't "hype building"). None of us are owed the experience, or some certain arbitrary measure of it. Be glad they let you in on the weekend, instead of Tuesday-Thursday while cracking a trollface and passing a sixpack around laughing.

Same, I just checked out GW2 the other day and it looks amazing. SWTOR on the other hand, from what I've seen, just looks like a copy of wow.
Also, while it would be really fun to play an mmo in the star wars universe, the cinematics for SWTOR make the lore seem really cliche and boring and that ruined my interest. Its just the same old good guy bad guy star wars stereotypes

WoW this new build is horrible. There are bugs back that were fixed in the last build and the servers are down like 50% of the time. In like 2-3 weeks the game has to be done :x

That's always during an mmo beta, they tend to stress test the servers a lot beyond normal capacity, probably fine after beta.
That's what's beta is for in the end, testing. that it allows you to play from time to time is a bonus.

Hmm i didn't even think about this. I believe my bandwidth cap is at 40 gbs so this could be a problem since I plan on downloading skyrim too wtfff
