That's what won the Steelers the game, and the Ravens can stop, or significantly slow down their rushing attack. It's going to be a tight game, just like everyone but DKnight is saying. Just like the experts said it'd be the Eagles vs Cardinals in the NFC Championship. oh wait. Its a prediction!! Up for putting $20 up on the game? Payable via paypal? Either game is fine for me. I have no money to bet. I have like $600 total right now, because my job sucks, and I have school/books to pay for, and I am about $1k in debt. Betting is not an option at this time. Otherwise I would bet on the Ravens.

More than I hate the Manning brothers are cocky sports fans who, when it comes down to it, refuses to put their money where their mouth is.

If SL is so sure that the Ravens are going to win, so long as he has $20 he should put it up. Betting SHOULD be an option because it can only show a profit. But then again, sometimes even when people are 90% sure they don't want to put down the money simply because they are risk-averse. That may be what is going on here. PS: I love the Manning brothers, but only after they have lost a big game. I love to watch them cry.

Yeah nice try Dknight, we all know the Steelers are big favourites. I'm willing to bet on the Steelers too, winner takes all any amount you want! + Show Spoiler + Cos then i'll just go the bookies and back my bet up by putting 80% of my buy-in on the 3-1 ravens.

I'm not saying that I personally think that the Steelers are better; just that the betting odds are in their favour. This is the latest: Baltimore Ravens 11/5 Pittsburgh Steelers 5/13

I never even said that the Ravens would win, prior to saying that if I were to bet, I would bet on the Ravens. I said it was going to be a close game, and that to think it was going to be a blowout is ridiculous. You know what I hate? Assholes who can't read (i.e. people like you). Why is everyone expecting a blowout in the Steelers game? The two regular season games were decided by a total of seven points. And, while the Ravens D didn't look its best vs the Titans, it's still a great defense. I doubt the Steelers will put up very many points. That's what won the Steelers the game, and the Ravens can stop, or significantly slow down their rushing attack. It's going to be a tight game, just like everyone but DKnight is saying. Now go ahead and point out where I was being cocky (about a winner in the game, so much so that I would want to bet on the game, heads up). If you want to give me the +20 that you're expecting, then we have a bet (except that I don't have paypal, but I'm sure we can arrange something else). Otherwise, go ahead and shut the fuck up. On January 12 2009 14:46 SweeTLemonS[TPR] wrote: Personally, I think the birds get their revenge on the Steelers next weekend. It's SO hard to beat a team three times in a single season, and the Steelers were given a gift on a bad call in the last game (from any angle, it does not look like the ball broke the plane, in my opinion, on that throw to Holmes at the last second). That was the only other thing I said regarding this game, and that is FAR from being cocky. My reasoning for thinking the Ravens win: it's really hard to beat a team three times in a single season. PS: I love the Manning brothers, but only after they have lost a big game. I love to watch them cry. It has nothing to do with risk aversion; I don't have money to bet. When I owe a ton of money, and my school payment is coming up (which will put me at about $0) I don't bet money. That's not even considering the other things that I have to pay for (gas, phone bill, car insurance, medical bills, etc). The last time the Broncos beat the Patriots (the '06 season) I had $50 on the Broncos to win the game. I bet on almost every week last season. I don't have money to bet right now, so I'm not betting.

So Ravens > Steelers 37-35 Setting aside the Steeler's defense, the Ravens will never score 37 point with the way Cam Cameron has been play calling. The Ravens would need 3-4 INT/FUM return for TD to even get close to that. Unless you think Flacco will actually be given the chance to let loose; yea right.

Another interesting note is that Pittsburgh is the only team that doesn't have a bird as its mascot. Weird? Sure. Either way, there are 3 teams that no one would have predicted to make it to their respective conference championship games. Here is a quick run down on the teams that remain in the hunt for the Lombardi trophy. The Steelers have had the most recent success of remaining teams in the playoffs. The Steelers franchise has won five super bowls with the most recent one coming in Super Bowl 40 where they defeated the Seattle Seahawks. The Steelers won the most recent playoff meeting agains the Ravens which came in 2001 when they defeated Baltimore, who was at the time the defending Super Bowl champs, 21-10. The Eagles have faired well in the playoffs during the Andy Reid era and after a one year absence from the playoffs are back. The Eagles most notable run in the playoffs was during the 2004 season in which they made it to the Super Bowl and lost to the Patriots 24-21. The Ravens have had their fair share of success in the postseason as well over the past several seasons. The Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2000 over the Giants 34-7 and have advanced to the playoffs in 2001, 2003, and 2006. While the three aformentioned teams each have Super Bowl experience since the turn of the millenium, the Cardinals do not fit this mold. The Cardinals last playoff appearance was in 1998 and prior to that, their most reason playoff appearance came as the St. Louis Cardinals back in 1982.

I think the ravens were robbed of a victory at that last game. Also, while the cardinals dont have much playoff success as a team, they have some playoff-experienced players, Kurt Warner for example was superbowl MVP. Nonetheless GO RAVENS/EAGLES
