Its not like we're on Bnet east trying to hit the pro leagues from pub games; we have plenty of decent players who still have plenty of development potential. In my opinion, the earlier we do this change, the better off we'll be, in that we'll have had less solidification of bad habits in our relaxed games, and more time to practice new, required skills.

Much <3 to heen and bdares though they are good as everyone says. I may or may not have played with lonery on an aka. Heen invited me to play [ when I could ] for his team for one of the first leagues in korea when i was over there for 2 months and yeah I must say he was very impressive on no-delay. There's a lot of ways to start getting into competitive dota once you have enough people who are interested, I guess I can post on that a bit later little busy right now~

Then from there you can start out playing in so many different outlets. You can try playing CAL if you wanna test the waters with not much stress since there's a lot of forfeit wins and teams not showing up. Otherwise you can try playing HTGN-Open or fill out an application for the pro division. This league is much better run than CAL. The more casual approach is to play cw's on GGC or find some practice teams. What I would suggest is getting on IRC. The gamesurge network and the following channels #dotaunderground and #prodota [ you need a pass for prodota but I can provide this ] you can get scrims pretty regularly. Most people play on GGC. I would say the majority of my scrimming experience came from IRC, though I know how most people here cringe at anything but quakenet. I'm sure there are quakenet channels and euro channels [ there definitely are ] this is geared more towards north american english-speaking players. The other way are these: http://forums.dota-allstars.com/index.php?showtopic=161390 Individual leagues. I'm not a huge supporter of individual leagues because I firmly believe anyone can get as good as their potential without putting a lot of time into the leagues. They require time because there is exp decay and ratings etc. The best part about individual leagues is, if you don't mind playing with strangers you open yourself up to a huge array of skill levels. Sometimes you play really good players, but most of the time you play average players. But really as long as you don't mind playing a lot with strangers this is a good way to go. You can even make connections and find teams that are around your skill level to practice with you. And the obvious advantage is that you can play these leagues whenever you have time, even if your teammates aren't all on. Of the individual ones I would say of course shoot for IHCS division 2 or 1 [ hf with that lol ] or dxd. Dxd is indeed run by hunter, a complete moron imo but the playerbase itself is fine. I have played in both and would recommend these. Myself, I only play in TDAs lately for fun and the only requirement is that you have 25 ladder game wins or some forum posting requirements. It's more of like a semi-open league than an invite league. Edit: There's also random tournaments that pop up here and there so be on the lookout for those. During our busiest days my team played in CAL/HTGN/Battle for the Throne DXDI Tournament/random league at once and I was playing dxd-i and then later IHCS on the side.

Basically, I thought we played good up to a point, then we got paranoid and didint push hard enough. MY question is this, what do you do vs tower huggers? And how could myself and my team won this game? Where did we go wrong, and how can we improve it? I thought it was quite a close game, untill we let DK get too strong. We focused Void alot, and he was pretty useless, but didn't focus DK enough. But I also think, the game should have ended before DK hits his prime time (after lvl 16). Also, what do you think of our Bans and picks? I felt that they banned Omni and Es, and made me think they wanted to play Brood. Or why else would a team ban Omni so early? Here is replay - http://www.dota-allstars.com/replay/58319/index.html Picks/Bans in order Sentinel Bans: Rexxar, NA, Silencer, Brood Scourge Bans: QoP, Omni, ES, Zeus Sentinel Picks: WL, Lina, Sven, SF, Tide Scourge Picks: Dazzle, Potm, DK, Lich, Void Enjoy the game I hope!

Then how many people would I need to vouch for me? Getting into IHCS 2 requires: - A good replay. At least one, and if its one it better be a damn good replay. It can't be a pub, it has to be from another league or tournament/ladder. Big plus if it has known players. - 3 Vouches from vouchers/admins of IHCS forum crew. You post an application [ including a good replay ] and 3 vouchers will either !support/deny - Knowledge and use of Vent/Irc/Ggc. In order to increase your chances: +Get to know players already in IHCS. They can't !vouch for you but they can show !support in your application thread and it helps more than you think. In fact I believe that's the only way I really got in since there's so many applications. +Get at least 5 solid replays showing a variety of roles. +Have a decent ' dota resume ' if you will. Say anything and everything you've played in. That was how it was when I applied anyway which was a while back. Its a bit of shame that IHCS wasn't for me so I stopped being active in it and lost membership. Otherwise I would support for you guys in your threads. But don't fret if it takes you a while to get into IHCS, it really is the very best. All other leagues it took me maybe a week max to get through the application process. IHCS took over 2 months.
