I found those to be extremely helpful when I was first learning fighting games (namely 3s) and playing on an arcade stick. They're a great opportunity to practice your execution. Yeah! It was awesome. I'm loving BlazBlue. Also yeah, we have mercy rounds. Thank god. They were really, really helpful for getting Hell's Fang, Carnage Scissors, etc down properly. Good to see newb friendliness is alive in arcades, haha. On January 07 2009 15:40 Trumpet wrote: Nice writeup, but $2 per match!? That's insane, skip a day of that at the arcade and you'll have enough for a stick ![]() Edit: waitwaitwait, $2 per match?! O_O I know, it's ridiculous. I do live in New Zealand, but we don't have any more dollars than US people do. It's still a lot of money (especially for me). I need to buy a proper Japanese styled PS2 stick and GGXX #R or something.

Any IAD fighter (AH or GG) feels the same on stick after an amount of time, so playing GG with some friends is nice. After learning Ino's FRC combos all fighters feel easy by comparison .__.

Apparently the TvC in my arcade is pretty much just a Wii with an arcade cabinet around it and some sticks, haha. So we'll be able to get console exclusive characters (are there any?) in the arcade aw yeaaaaaaahhhhhhh. I'm not really an expert on what you can do to scrap together a working arcade cabinet taking bits and pieces from different sources, but TvC in general supposedly runs on (custom? release details seem sketchy) Wii-derivative hardware. Thus the Wii release. This is just like the Sega Naomi (CvS2, MvC2, etc.) being essentially a Dreamcast in a box, and Taito Type X/X2 (KOF98UM, BlazBlue, SF4, etc.) being essentially a Windows XP-based desktop in a box. So I'm wondering if you mean the TvC arcade unit in question is different than other sanctioned TvC units. Console exclusives are Hakushon Daimao, Saki, and Viewtiful Joe I think.

This is what was said on another forum The TVC Machine at Yifans IS JUST A WII WITH AN ARCADE CABINET AROUND IT. This means that at some point, we might get joe and other console exclusive characters. The yifans manager (Andy?) confirmed this. Apparently it was 1/10th of the cost of importing the actual arcade board. Good shit son. I have no idea how true it is considering things like 'how do you set up coin operated gameplay on a Wii', and I have read stuff on SRK about what you've said - why a PS3 release would take forever because it was pretty much coded for the Wii due to hardware similiarity, etc. I don't know the manager personally either, so yeah. Dunno why he'd bother lying though. Also, interesting exclusives. Might run Casshern/Saki if I bother to play next time.

I've got a 3v3 team for Third Strike, but I don't know if I'm going to partake in anything else yet. I'm most likely going to Socal Regionals. The problem is, the lunar new year festival here is on the 18th, so I won't be able to make the 2nd day. Also there's a full day rehearsal the 17th, I'm thinking of ditching that >_<. If I do go, I'll probably be on a team for SF4 and maybe 3s if I get some time to practice it.

Good to see a fellow SoCal player. There's a practice 3v3 for 3S tomorrow at Denjin that I might attend; gotta get that practice in!
