Try closing steam and then doing it. It only worked for me when steam was closed and then it launched the application for me, even though I had restarted it multiple times.

Been tried several times with several different people. The ruling was that it wasn't SC so no feature . Don't know if that's changed with the release of Dota2/Diablo3 betas but Card tried a month or two or go and was rejected for that reason.

Tried that as well and also with/without steam. Uninstalled, reinstalled. The DotA2 website, the email, other websites that claim to "fix" the http. I pretty much gave up and just waiting on people to get another batch of beta invites.
