Makes more sense then, though I imagine it still be a royal pain getting those replacements, and I imagine the wear and tear on some parts will require them.

I think its marketed towards kids that are old enough to not smash these things immediately.

Plus its a good way to teach them about caring for things, and recycling/reusing things like cardboard.

I think it could be a fun thing to do with not too young children. Like, I would totally do this with my 12 year old younger brother. Seems like it would be fun.

Now I would not do this with say a 5 year old, they'll break it all apart.

Yeah, this is a pretty big whiff for me because I'm tool old/don't have younger siblings that I could do this with and don't have kids.

Nintendo is a toy company, let's not forget that

And assuming god marketing this could potentially sold Switch consoles to little kids and families, i mean, people pay more than a 1000 for a phone, what's $70?

i might buy one just to see how it is, i mean, the piano one is something else, and i definitely want to try the robot one

In the past few months, I bought a $2000 PC (mine was 7+ years old), a $1000 phone (old one was 3+ years) and a $300 Switch (I have no console, just a 3DS). I spent months researching each purchase and waiting for deals.

Meanwhile, my coworker traveled to Europe and dropped $3000 on a purse on an impulse buy.

$70 may be more than a game but it's really cheap compared to other purchases. Personally, I'd be far more concerned with having more clutter in my room. I'm trying to reduce the amount of barely used crap I have.

The Switch is basically the ultimate evolution of Nintendo's Game Boy, a handheld that was largely targeted at children. Most games that came out so far for the Switch were mainly blockbuster titles and indie games targeted at (young) adults, but it's hardly surprising that Nintendo will want to sell its console to a younger audience as well.

I don't have children, but if I had to buy a console that needs to satisfy the needs of a young child as well as those of a 30-year-old adult with a full time job, it'd be the Switch.

The switch turned my PS4 into a netflix player. If Netflix were to come to the Switch, I'd have a hard time finding reasons not to sell off the PS4, especially since the games bought the machine for, Bloodborne and The Witcher 3, I haven't played in a long time.

The switch is the first console that i would think of buying games for it and not for my PC

the fact that i could take X game on the go is something with such value nowadays, specially with how much little time i have nowadays

Like i know Darkest Dungeon is on PC and cheaper but portability and the fact that i think that game fits so well on a handheld console is a deciding factor

For the past 10 years, I've been a PC + handheld gamer. Since I don't care that much for graphics, the Switch gives me access to console games on a hybrid handheld device. Otherwise, I'd be buying them on my PC.

Additionally, there are some slow and grindy games, Pokemon comes to mind, that get boring fast when played by themselves but are just perfect to play while planting my ass on the couch during NFL season or NBA season or March Madness. Seriously, some activities that can only partially grab my attention are so much better when multitasked with another activity that also partially grabs my attention.

The majority of posters on most videogame related boards still seem to be primarily in the teenager to young adult demographic. Many don't understand that the needs or even the tastes of older adults coincide more with children than with the 14-25 year old demographic. I've seen so many people I used to play with gravitate towards short, simple games once they got extremely busy with adult life.

So true (in my case). Between a full time job and other commitments there is hardly any time for the grindy games..

I'm the most single guy in my circle. I tell all my married friends and relatives, even the ones without kids yet, to get a Switch if they want a console. The only ones getting an Xbox or Playstation are using it more as a Bluray player than a videogame console.

On the more hardcore games, it's so easy to get busy, step away from videogames for a week, get lost when I come back and just lose motivation to continue playing that game. I make it a point nowadays to finish whatever I'm playing before traveling for 2 weeks. I just play simpler games and do other activities until my departure.

There's an easy reason not to do this, if you sell your PS4 you can't watch Netflix and play your switch at the same time. Though you could sell your PS4 for a Roku or other streaming device.

Even in terms of having time, the Switch is great because you don't have to monopolize a TV or seclude yourself wherever your PC is to use it. There's a lot of value in being able to sit on a couch with your significant other while they watch TV and you play a game.

O my, Darkest Dungeon controls certainly take some getting used to. Almost seems needlessly complicated TBH.

Got a pro controller

Is fantastic, it's so soft, got a great grip, definitely a favorite of mine nowadays.

It might be pricey but i say it's worth it

Yea Faruko I may have mentioned already, but in case I didn't I got a pro controller for Christmas and it's one of the best controllers I've used on any system. The size/feel is great and the buttons are amazing.

The packaging says approximately 40 hours IIRC.

@Faruko yea that's a good idea, I'd be down to add some people from here too.
