Has anyone here played through the NES/SNES libraries of games that are offered as a bonus for registering for Nintendo Switch Online? I grew up with a lot of these games, and I'm very impressed at how many top-tier NES/SNES games are available already (with more being released every 1-2 months). Easily 100+ hours of retro awesomeness.
The new Smash character is the Minecraft guy. Wtf.
I'm surprised they went with Minecraft, given how much support there's been for other real video game characters, like Crash Bandicoot, Waluigi, Geno (from Super Mario RPG), and Tracer (from Overwatch). Those are some of the most popular characters... I feel like Minecraft guy is gonna be another Mr. G&W lol.

Its up there with Slay the Spire for me on Switch games.
It's been a while since I've played a game that I simply couldn't put down, which is what I've been experiencing with Hades. I'm surprised at just how many times I've said aloud "All right, fine, just one more run" in a row. They do a spectacular job of pacing the journey through Hell, and really making you feel like you make progress every time.
there are other sales going on for high priced games. Borderlands Legendary Collection is $45 CDN at Amazon.ca and EBGames.ca. It is probably $45 CDN everywhere else in Canada as well.
Thankfully, next month, Nintendo will allow players to use the original camera controls for Super Mario 3-D All-Stars, which was one of many serious complaints a lot of gamers had.
I've never played LoL, but I'm a sucker for Nintendo and RPGs, so hopefully the lore in this game can still accommodate gamers like me
"From Airship Syndicate comes Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, a single-player turn-based RPG featuring the baddest of Bilgewater. Play as Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Yasuo, Ahri, or Pyke and journey bravely into the ever-creeping Black Mist. Coming to Nintendo Switch early 2021."
Just finished playing through the demo for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, the canon prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I've always felt mixed when it came to those endless-army-hack-and-slash-games, but I think the characters and abilities and movement and story and everything-Zelda is organized really well. Super excited for the full version to be released in two weeks; now that I've completed Hades (absolutely phenomenal game), this'll be the next Switch game I dive into
Hades was incredible. I picked it up last week, and basically didn’t put my switch down from Wednesday through Saturday, after I took vacation days post election to doom scroll and f5 political blogs
Basically finished everything to my personal desire (max I cleared was 15 heat or so), so looking for the next thing. Hyrule warriors is definitely on my short list, and no reason to wait to buy it since switch games so rarely go on sale

That was something I grew to appreciate with Hades: I'm used to the old tradition of "beating the final boss means you've beaten the game... or, at least, most of the game", but this took the "100% completionist" idea to a whole new level, so much so that beating Hades was just one of a million things that naturally happens along your playthrough. I thought for sure that the "post-game grind" after beating Hades was going to be boring and redundant, but it really wasn't structured at all like I was used to. Beating Hades didn't exactly have the same build-up as beating Bowser or Ganon, but that's because beating Hades wasn't the final point, or final statement, that the game was making. I thought that was really cool.
