I'd imagine that if the hype doesn't die down before, once winter comes in countries that have actual winter it will get a lot more quiet on the Pokemon front then. Sure the game is pretty gimmicky and haters gonna hate but it's still a nice nostalgy blast for someone that grew up with generation 1. Leaving the house, going to new places and maybe meeting new people is also nice even at this age.

Am I the only feeling it's rather shallow, and doubting its longevity? Okay, I'm only 11th level, so my experience is obviously limited. However, from what I'm seeing now, the game seriously lacks purpose past the early collection frenzy, and without chat or direct game-driven player-to-player interaction (both friendly and rival-driven), there's no drive for community building. Gym control, also, seems rather lackluster, as you're very limited by the ammount (and strength) of your pokemon in how many you can hold - and also, there's no real point owning more gyms. As far as I can see, there's no real purpose in going out and about, exploring the world and slapping gyms half the town away. There's plenty to get to just in the everyday walk. I mean, this is coming from an ingress background obviously. I expected a drive to control areas, to want to scale mountains and visit odd townships in the middle of bumfuck nowhere with a bunch of crazy loons, but the game doesn't have any mechanics to encourage such behaviour. It seems Pokemon Go is all about sitting around in parks with preteens singing the pokemon theme. :\ Edit: Don't get me wrong, the game has definitely got some great advantages over ingress. A much more appealing map, elimination of sales spam through individualized and non-shareable items, the little skillshot AR catching game, leveling pokemon and gyms - all great features. I'm just missing a way to control areas by, perhaps linking gyms together, a live log telling me where my pals and foes are, and a frequently updated scoreboard telling me how well I'm doing.

So many hot girls just wandering around catching pokemon and its such a easy opener to simply ask if they caught anything good lately or what team they are on. Also you're already out there together doing the same thing so insta-1st dates. I don't get that whole socialising thing. The only ppl i would meet when walking aimlessly around catching pokemon/ go to pokestops would be 12-16yr olds... Is this maybe a country thing? Or just related to city size? Can anyone confirm/ deny things like that happen in Germany? Cause in my experience ppl here play just casually and laugh about all those articles like "500 ppl on the highway to catch pokemon" and such. I mean gyms in my area have Pokemon with maybe 500-600 CP TL,DR; I want to meet hot girls but it's not happening :D

I guess the Germans sadly are to narrow minded.

When I have to go outside I do the upside down thingy and maybe flip one or two pokestops on my way. I would never go outside just to play. Besides, since we are Germans, we are working all the time anyway. Don't got time for that shit ^^
