Hi there,
Is anyone here playing Mythea? I know that a lot of members love numbers and logic thinking. This is a turnbased teamgame that has existed for a couple of years and is played directly in the browser. Too be good you need to log in at least 1-2 times a day, if you wanna be really good you need a lot more. If anyone recognizes Utopia this is pretty similar but way better interface and much funnier.
The community is pretty similar to the community of SC, most ppl are very helpful and will try to teach you how to play properly since it's quite a lot of information to take in. I think it's the perfect game to play at small breaks at work and you will get addicted easily if you learn how to play it!
I have no idea how to explain the game better so I've stolen some info from the site, which can be found here:
Play Mythea here!
The Basics
You obviously seem to think you are ready to take on Mythea ,we will see. I have been tasked with teaching you the essentials, please read on.
I must firstly warn you of one major difference in Mythea. Time here moves at a different pace than that of your world. That which you know as an hour is in fact a full day in Mythea, your day - a month, your week - a year. There are 24 of your days in our month and 7 of your days in our year. Please be mindful of this as none of your advisors in Mythea know of the Earth you come from and they will keep time as I have described here.
When you join you will also be a part of a kingdom and that kingdom will reside on an island. It is important to understand how islands, kingdoms, and provinces are noted. The province "Camelot (3:4)" is named Camelot, a member of Kingdom #3, and on Island #4. Using this notation you will easily be able to keep track of your allies and enemies around the world.
Getting Started
Upon signing up you will be required to create a province. First, select a name for your lands and a name and gender for yourself. The Race and Personality of your province will impact heavily on your game strategies, so choose with care.
Finally, you must choose where your province resides. You can choose to rejoin the previous kingdom you played with, pick from a selection of random kingdoms, join a kingdom via a password given to you or begin your own kingdom. At this time, the inhabitants of the lands given to you will be placed in your charge. This will give you a peasant population and 500 acres of land to lord over and a quantity of supplies to build your province. Depending on how late in the age you decide to lord over a province will also determine how many supplies your peasants gift you with initially.
The kingdom you reside in is very important in Mythea - teamwork is a fundamental aspect of the game. Your goal, whatever that may be, must be agreeable to your kingdom. If it is not, it could lead to a civil war and you may find that other kingdoms are quick to attack those which are divided internally. You can learn more about your kingdom in the Politics section of this Guide. In this section you can choose to defect to a different kingdom at any stage as long as you are not in war and your armies are all home. You can delete and restart your province via the options menu, however, be forewarned that any gains you have made in this realm will be lost.

As much as i would play in mythea, i'm already hardcore in a crownwinning kingdom in utopia instead

Yeah I remember those days. Would never try Utopia now that Mythea exists though, don't miss it at all. Try Mythea one age for fun and you'll notice how much less time it takes, and still hard to master. Trust me, I was at the top in Utopia and I'm in the top in Mythea, every age

I'll give this a go I guess if I can join you/someone from TL :D. I have absolutely no idea how the game works though but I have an unhealthy amount of time (read all day every day) to play.
If you give me kingdom info to join and maybe a race/trait/adviser combo that is needed I'll do whatever is needed/helpful and join you.
EDIT: Ill just go ahead and get started with something random to try and learn a bit, still will wait for your response though.
EDIT2: well, the chat isnt working for me at all so it is a bit hard to figure out what to do now after ive messed around for a bit. Tried on chrome and ie, restarted browsers and then resterted pc and tried, still no success. Not sure how much energy I want to devote into getting the chat to work :S.

I remember playing Utopia 11 years ago. That is all.

As with many games like this one, I like the idea a lot, but its overwhelming to learn and begin. Only game that remotely resembles this one that I've played is Ogame, and that was a long time ago. Can anyone recommend their top 5 or so games of the same genre as Mythea?

I would give this a shot if the new Tlers are getting located together. The half an hour I devoted yesterday to reading the guide left me only moderately perplexed; a guide or tier list of suggested matchups would be awesome. It's hard to know whether an advisors skill is worthless before passing the game....

Well, so far I have had nothing but issues with the game. The chat would never load properly, it keeps telling me my password is incorrect for everything even though I am using the correct password. Joined a kingdom and they wanted me to take over another account that was already built up a bit and I was unable to delete my province so had an admin do it, and now I can not log into my account at all. I was looking for something fun and this seemed somewhat interesting but this many issues I'm having has pretty much turned me off.

Sorry guys for being late with answers, not SUPER active here since I mostly played SC:BW. Anyways, the most difficult part for sure is the start and the learning curve. To make it easier I've created a chat for ppl on this site that wants to chat, get advice or whatever. I'll idle the most of the time
Just write /join tl.net in the chat to join the channel. I bet you recognise that command.
I'm also available in the game through private messages. My province is called ruledbyerection (7:7).
Anyway, I'm super addicted to this game and thought it'd be a good fit for ppl at this site since activity and brains are the most important tools to succeed!
Also, for starting race/personality combinations I recommend trying these out:
Attacker: Human/champion(very good but a bit harder to balance), Avian/Warrior(fast!!), Dark Elf/Druid(very good offence, also hard to play) or Orc/Warrior(huge gains and offence)
Mage: Elf/Mystic(Super strong wizard strength and easy to play) or Faery/Mystic(super good allround!)
Thievery: Faery/Rogue(easy to play, hard to master) or Gnome/Rogue(awesome thievery and cheap troops)

This game uses stolen artwork everywhere..

Did not know that, where is it stolen from? I know some of the math is stolen directly from Utopia.

Browsing the game guide I already see a bunch of icons taken from Warcraft, HoMM, and the Infinity Engine RPGs.
