Another rendition of the absolutely awesome game. It has been a very successful tabletop game, followed by computer port and now we'll get to see its new incarnation.
Not much is known at this stage, but I have my hopes up and am totally thrilled with this.
For those who don't know, BB is a turn-based (because no one ever plays blitz) tactical game, where you lead a team of players in a game that resembles american football. There are tons of different teams, each with unique playstyle to choose from and then you can tailor it even further as your players level up and gain new skills/stats/mutations. You can bash your way to victory, play the passing or running game, there's something for everybody. All this wrapped in a nice fantasy humour and gore. What's not to like?
So what are the cliff notes of the new elements. How can you possibly make a '2' of this game other than making the graphics better, without completely ruining the integrity and the tie to the real game that it has?
Also: How many Teams will be available at the start? First one started with only, and i dont really see the point in switching unless all (or at least most) teams are included.
From what I gather, they're making it a "2" because of these features: - new graphics, major overhaul of the UI for the most part, also the Cabal Vision thingie (serving as part of the UI from what I gather) - revised multiplayer architecture, dedicated servers, better league and tournament support - not sure how single player is going to look like, they're mentioning a single epic scenarised campaign
Like I mentioned, not much is known so far. All the info you get for now is from their dev blog (on the site) and they have mostly focused on introducing the staff with just a couple of words on what's actually being done.
Indeed, but I actually like that. Using icons/glyphs/symbols etc. instead of text reduces cognitive load and speeds up information processing. I wish they would also add small icons over players (togglable) so that you can see what skills they have without having to click on them. That would be a huge boon.
