As I said in our private thread, the only reason lots of white players go 5.Nc3 anyway is because they are not prepared to get out of theory in a ground that black might have prepared extensively, and black is the one that gets into the unorthodox move order. There is absolutely no reason to let white go c4 unless you have cooked something really special, and white players, being worried of stepping in a theoretical minefield prepared by their opponent, usually prefer transposing back into the main line than doing this otherwise much superior move. Don't trust your database to call a move the best because it is played more often. That's not how chess works. Welcome to Orient. | ||
