Since this is an Xbox thread I want to get you guys' take on this statement from MS marketing man Yusef Mehdi.
It’s a “family” affair
Since its announcement, there has been some confusion over the details of sharing your Xbox One game library with up to ten "family members." Mehdi couldn't give comprehensive details, but he did clarify some things.
For one, a family member doesn't have to be a "blood relative," he said, eliminating the extremely unlikely possibility that the Xbox One would include a built-in blood testing kit. For another, they don't have to live in the primary owner's house—I could name a friend that lives 3,000 miles away as one of my "family members" Mehdi said.
You'll be able to link other Xbox Live accounts as having shared access to your library when you first set up a system and will also be able to add them later on (though specific details of how you manage these relationships is still not being discussed). The only limitation, it seems, is that only one person can be playing the shared copy of a single game at any given time. All in all, this does sound like a pretty convenient feature that's more workable than simply passing discs around amongst friends who are actually in your area.
I don't remember hearing this during their presser and for the life of me can't figure out why they would leave that out. Maybe they wanted to wait and see gamers reactions then decide on whether to implement it or not? Seems like a pretty big deal as long as its free (outside of a live membership).

My guess is that backlash has pressured them to make this feature less and less restrictive. At this point it's not any damn different than just passing a disc around except it's still saddled with all the other pathetic DRM. They made this massive push to move away from discs and go all digital and now they're being forced to set up this system to mimic discs...someone at Microsoft doesn't seem to understand that reinventing the wheel as a square with rounded edges isn't innovative.

I figured the same. It was probably a situation where they had it ready but didn't want to actually utilize it if they made it out of E3 alright PR wise. Once they saw the reaction, they decided to implement and reveal a few more features. It is a little better if for some reason you want to let someone "borrow" your game and you don't live near them though.

Well you can just lie about your country in your account and Xbox-live will work . Of course you will need a Creditcard or buy credit balance cards for Xbox live somewhere from outside of your country. It works for PSN and Xbox-live .
I mean i'm from Germany and i need to have an international account on PSN to get access to some titles/dlc's at all OR Demos ( the german one is not allowed to have titles 16+ as free content and there's some banned titles , Mortal Kombat i'm looking at you -.- )

Wait...Japan isn't on that list. That seems like a major major flaw.

But more on topic: that list of countries is fucking stupid. Not that I was planning on buying one anyway due to their other retarded policies, but this one is just even dumber. Apparently, if you move countries (and the country you move to happens to not be in that list) your Xbox Done is a flashy black box of scrap metal.

It doesn't because i have working PSN accounts ( and friends with Xbox live account btw ) registered to countries i'm definitly not residing in without any kind of proxy . US/Austria/UK to name a few. Not to mention there's a crapton of countries that don't have their own PSN/Xbox-live. It's not like i wanted to do so it's because of stupid laws in Germany .

Simply put because of what the Xbox One is, is still very geared to the US and EU markets likely wont do all that great in comparison in japan. So they put Asia on the back burners Asia wont get one until Q3? 2014

Ok this is gonna sound really dumb but do the Japanese celebrate Christmas as a major holiday? Cause if PS4 releases for Christmas and Xbox doesn't...they've essentially sacrificed any potential install base in Japan.

Xbox has almost no market in Asia in the first place. Sony and Nintendo completely own over there. The fact that the ps4 is lower priced and coming out sooner breaks it for MS. Even if they came out at the same time Sony would still win over there. It's how much are microsoft willing to lose to focus on the US, EU, and AU.

No reason to focus on Asia because outside of japan there isn't much money in asia for consoles and japan really is dominated by nintendo and sony.

Christmas isn't widely celebrated in japan although parts of christmas are celebrated in japan weather or not you are Christan which there aren't that many. What you're thinking of the big ticket gift giving doesn't occur in japan as much.

I'm not entirely sure about every facet of the laws BUT i know german PSN/Xbox-live is not allowed to have Demos or free Titles in general 16+ unless you can 100% verify age . If you're a paying member they do show up.
And of course there's banned titles which there a two categories .
First one : Titles i'm allowed to own and buy though aren't allowed to be sold in stores and on websites ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kategorie:Indiziertes_Computerspiel ) For some of those titles exist german version where stuff is cut . Sometimes not alot sometimes the game is cut to the point where it's just stupid .
Second : Games i'm not even allowed to legally own or talk about publically by law that the government could seize from me ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kategorie:Beschlagnahmtes_Computerspiel ) Note : again some of those games have edited german versions . Mostly thats stuff with swastikas and other nazi symbolism in it . ( there was a german games magazine which had to recall all of their sold version of one issue because there was a trailer on the CD with a swastika somewhere in the backround , as a result they went broke )
It's kind of ridiculous since this stuff isn't enforced on say youtube . It also isn't really enforced on normal people kind of like drug laws . And i've watched a video of a discussion from video journalists speculating IF you wanted to change the law through courts on games with nazi symbols ( games right now aren't counted as art by law ) you probably could but is it worth the effort and money ? Unless you're portraying historical accurate facts you aren't allowed to show nazi symbolism unless you're counted as art by law . Most of the laws are pretty old and haven't been updated to newer forms of media.
I personally for example legally bought Mortal Kombat 2011 on uk amazon and imported it . ( importiting british games is cheaper anyway for whatever reason even with shipping and there's german audio on it anyway ) And because the german PSN can't sell anything for the game i had to buy DLC characters on my Austrian account ( with my German creditcard btw ) .

Btw although creating an international Xbox-live for example in Germany does IP lock it is possible to create a working international Xbox-live account you just gotta to it on the Xbox Website Which means everyone even in a country without Xbox-live ittself will have access to Xbox-live on Xbox-one.
Take it for what it's worth.

Uh...PSP sales are close to 80 million, which is about equal to the XBox360. Did you mean the Vita?
