Still, $500 is huge, but the PS2 came out at like $450 or something no? I'm not going to get any console day 1 but it's still a lot to pay. I wonder what their long term support plans for the One are.

PS4 is estimated to be around $400 USD. Analyst estimated it to be around that price. PS4 has better hardware also. You are right. If PS4 price is cheaper. They win everything. Plus, Sony won't make the same mistake when they launched PS3 in 2006 at $599 price that was crazy expensive.

I havent read the article yet, but the way I imagine it to work with something like Forza 5 is that your AI file is saved locally (shouldnt be more than 50kb of data really) or uploaded to the cloud, then when you play with AI friends it downloads the AI files to be ran locally by your machine. So it really isnt being enhanced by cloud computing, it is just storing a small bit of data. The PS4 could probably achieve similar by downloading updated AI directly from a friends console rather than the cloud. PS3 was even more expensive, iirc. 360 was $399 at release for the expensive model with a 20GB HDD, $299 for the base

A penny saved is a penny earned no matter how much money i personally own . I set personal marks what i'm willing to spend on stuff and 500€ for a gaming console is way over that mark. I'm not willing to spend beyond 250€ for a console thats my personal mark already set for the next generation . Which means i'm not getting either on launch i guess .
