Well I would like for them to keep it offline, but at the same time, we're just viewers. The focus should be on the game, not on us. Having fun should be the idea behind it all. They just happen to stream it. That would be the idea situation.

I'm still sad we didnt get to see Gen being handed a dead ferret. So if you ask me, I really wouldve liked it if she didnt cheat in that instance. It would have added some comic relief.

Also: you probably do like it but just don't know it yet. No edit stamp, so that is what I said. They need to sit down and talk about how they want to treat meta-gaming. When Geoff says something to JP about re-rolling and JP refusing to do it, because it would be meta-gaming. JP takes a very strong stance on it, which is fine. On the other hand you have Gen reading the chat and using that to make/change certain decisions, this is a very loose stance on it. They need to come up with some ground rules for things like this, or it just creates problems.
What frustrates me about JP is that he 'metagames' by trying not to. Its really annoying when JP goes against the Logical choice. On that episode where he moved out of the way, he was trying NOT to metagame but ended up doing so because of trying not to. He shouldve done his first inclination which is probably bend down to see who it was or even say no, as it would be in a somewhat ogre fashion. I feel that he makes rash decisions or trolling decisions jsut for the hell of it, which makes me cringe in pain sometimes.

Neal has stated multiple times that Abi would not have had a dead ferret. When you offer that much gold, it's obvious you don't want a dead one. Just because the players thought that would happen, doesn't mean it would have happened anyway. Neal is the DM. He tells what's happening. People should not assume anything.

On the next AMA I would like to ask him, if he decides if something is meta-gaming or not based solely on what he thinks or what he believes the viewers might think. If he is true to himself and make the best decisions he can in regard to meta-gaming then you can't really fault him.

I like how they handled it in the end, ban/timeout people that give suggestions. That way the players can read the chat without influencing them (except the appreciation and comedy).

It was a working solution for sure, but I question the need for the solution to begin with. They are taking meta-gaming way too seriously. Like I said before, it should be Neal's call. Not JP's.

To be honest, i don't quite understand this fixation on metagaming. It has never been a problem in any group i played in, actually it has not even really been a topic. You can justify any action in character. So just play the character the way you like it. Talking about "OMG that was metagaming, stop it" is far more detrimental to the gaming experience than any usage of out-of character knowledge could be.

I dont think you have 4k+ people watching from the background suggesting things to you. I think the group suggesting isnt really meta-gaming honestly since I guess it can be done in game as a helpful way under the right circumstances. Either way its whatever people need to chill out.

Hey Geoff. It's funny that you were scolding JP for going forgetting a spell, while you were the one that forgot that cave was poisonous (Abigail got sick when she got near). If only there was someone.. right?

I've seen some serious D&D groups actively take out members of the party that aren't supposed to be present during events, They'll leave the room until everything is done and this surely gets the job done. Considering this, i think it's a privilege that they can stay on air together for things that don't involve them/they cannot see or hear. In the case of the ferret, i just think it's gen trying to look out for herself (not wasting her own time, not getting embarassed, figuring out what geoff was referring to, etc, etc.). No need to absolutely over-react about it as a viewer in the end.
Having to justify yourself or something you do--each and every time--gets in the way of playing the game too. Everyone eventually learns how to play as a group.

Someone... what? To me it was the pressure getting to them and they weren't agreeing with how others were playing the combat at times, that can be in-character too don't you think? It's not like you have someone... like navi rolling around and saying, 'Hey, Listen!' to you and holding your hand as best it can.

That Minotaur was kind of a jerk. Who doesn't like cow puns? (Even Taurens don't mind cow jokes themselves.)

We need more abigor romance fan-fiction/pictures (It's already started on the sub-reddit)! Let's try to make them super un-fucking-comfortable.
