Let's Shame some Dispraises: A Victoria II AAR
This is a Victoria II After Action Report. This means I was bored enough to type up a fictional dialog to me playing a Paradox Game. I highly recommend you play this and similar Paradox games, and then bash your head for not understanding how stupid difficult they are.
Victoria II is a game that puts you into a country's shoes during the period 1836-1936. Here, you will attempt to industrialize and/or civilize (if you are non-European or American). You also, more likely than not, paint the map your color by annexing and conquering territories that have good resources. Uncivilized nations tend to be at a huge disadvantage to civilized ones. The nation I am playing is Tosa, a substate (basically, vassal) of Shogunate Japan.
I am playing with a Mod-New Nations Mod. I also reserve the right to mod in things as I see fit. But it's funnier when people die terribly, so I won't mod in cheats.
1. For Daimyo and Tosa
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/kKPK1ij.jpg)
Tosa Domain. On the poorest island of Japan, the Yamauchi clan has consolidated its control. But the resources of this land are few and its population even fewer. It will take great strength and resolve, as well as opportunism, to make something of this.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/yzJVMb8.jpg)
The tidings of the West approach our isle. We have already began to modernize our country, but not to the extent that our neighbors to the north and west have. Shimazu, the last holdouts against the Shogun, rule the island of Kyushu as Satsuma Domain. Choshu Domain, ruled by the Mori, also has been fairly modernized. We need to change quickly.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/9vcDTCT.jpg)
The Daimyo looks at his finances. The administration of the country is very expensive, and to maintain an army costs further. He decides to disband the army to save income. The Shogun can hardly blame him-it was the Shogun's fault for giving him this poor land in the first place.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/P1GGVvv.jpg)
The Daimyo decides to encourage the growth of Buddhism in the territory. It is hoped that the monks will teach more and more people to read and write, increasing Tosa's ability to modernize.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Z5h56Th.jpg)
Due to his location, the Daimyo is able to take advantage of some tidings of the West. While official Japanese policy is to kill any foreigner that lands outside of the designated trading port, a ship may stop every now and then on its way to richer lands. The Daimyo does not mind this sort of exchange of ideas.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/raQrAKc.jpg)
The thought in his mind is to overthrow the Shogun. The Shogun may rule, but he has grown decadent, much like the Ashikaga before them. Like the unifiers of Nobunaga and Hideyoshi, the Tokugawa must be taken down so a new rule can reinvigorate Japan. But for now that is but a dream.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/byZL0sd.jpg)
Meanwhile, tidings are brought of a similar island, whom has coronated a queen. Perhaps the long-ignored Japanese royalty may be what we need to reinvigorate Japan.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/zil8ZnD.jpg)
Elsewhere, the lands of China and Korea are rich and valuable. Alas, the might of the Chinese Empire is great, and the Koreans are mere puppets of the Manchu Emperor. Perhaps if Tosa is to grow strong, the riches of China and Korea could go to our coffers.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/CM4JVmF.jpg)
A disease strikes the people of Tosa. God. Damn. It. That's 20% of my entire population. FFFUUUUU.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/4QGNKHj.jpg)
It appears that the Chinese are now at war with a great foreign power. This is an opportunity that should be watched closely. If only we Tosa were free to interact with the world as we see fit.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/afiFfQn.jpg)
After a while, the Daimyo recognizes that the foreigners who call themselves "Resupanne" have been frequently stopping by. Friendly relations have developed with these sailors, and the occasional Spaniard on an errand turns heads amongst the people. The Spanish bring glass beads to try and extort more valuable resources, but the denizens of Tosa prefer the tortillas they have instead. Combining them with the Ocotopi found often in the waters brings about a new fusion dish, the Tako.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/YCzShyl.jpg)
Suddenly, the Shogun gives the call to arms. An armada of strange ships arrived, demanding entrance to the harbor. While the Shogun refused (as he should) the foreigners did not concede-they declared war!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/YTASUGQ.jpg)
The strange land they come from, "Amerika," is incredibly far away. Or so the Spanish told the Daimyo. It is a land of infinite riches and strange ideas. Perhaps this could be a further avenue of expansion?
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/KIdgOmW.jpg)
Meanwhile, nothing important happens.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/DkptKA1.jpg)
After many months, the Daimyo hears vague news of foreign battles. But the call to arms is quietly dropped. Perhaps the Shogun has gone senile in his old age. What if the Mongols were to invade again?
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/h76K48b.jpg)
The quiet dying down of the foreign enemy upsets the locals. The restless samurai have called to expel the foreigners and honor the emperor. But the Daimyo of Tosa is wise, and sees further than short-term bloodlust and xenophobia.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/orteS5C.jpg)
In Europe, Austria has apparently gotten its shit packed in by Prussia and now the Hungarians.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/nUf8G1T.jpg)
Suddenly, opportunity strikes. The Spanish make a most interesting proposal to the Daimyo. By offering to essentially join the Spanish Empire, the Spanish would be able to use their power to protect the Daimyo from Shogunate repercussions.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/oA6T97W.jpg)
After consideration, the daimyo decides to take the envoy up with his offer. A few days go by while the Spanish engage the Shogun in talks. (Note: I have no idea what I'm doing here)
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/3ewYdEa.jpg)
When the Spanish triumphantly return with news of success, the general populace rises up, furious that they were now under the rule of foreigners. The daimyo, having planned this from the start (not at all, actually), proceeds to blame the Spanish. The people of Tosa, fine patriots, proceed to chase all the Spanish out of Tosa. They are quickly put down by Shogunate forces.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Wr199Dh.jpg)
Tosa will now be the one to forge its own destiny. (ah.)

2.Your Golds, Give them Tosa
Tosa, a land free from both the Shogun and foreigners. A poor place, but what can be done? Steal other people's gold, of course. But that is dishonorable.
Yep, that's our castle.
Nevertheless, Tosa needs funds. An expedition is planned to secure territory. China and Korea, of course, are too strong for even the brave and disciplined samurai of Tosa. An easier target needs to be selected.
The vulnerable Johore sultanate lies to the south. It is a land of riches, according to the Dutch travelers that come from that direction. With the maps given to them by the European traders, a plan of attack is drafted, and transport ships are commissioned.
Unfortunately nobody wants to let me invade, or even want to sell boats to Tosa. If you notice, none of my boats are building (days waiting is still the same). This is one of the frustrating parts of Vicky-not being able to buy stuff you want when weak. ITS WOOD AND LINEN. SHIKOKU IS A FOREST ON AN ISLAND.
Fortunately, Tosa retains good ties with the Shogun, despite having declared independence (senile Shogun, indeed!). The Shogun gladly honors the call to arms, looking to distract the restless samurai from his failing regime. He can do so by sending them some 3000 miles away. On boats that won't be able to come back.
Within months, Johore surrenders, ceding a stretch of lightly populated but wealthy territory.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/isoZmAa.jpg)
The golds from Johore, combined with the steady increase in foreign ideas and trade, is enough for the Daimyo to finish the boats and do a few other things.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/kvNhJlX.jpg)
First, he begins a program of industrialization. With this, Tosa is ready to take a step into the next age:
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/kvNhJlX.jpg)
Nom, factories! Making... concrete.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/bCFqnKf.jpg)
Then, he brings in a foreign officer corps, to increase the efficiency of his general staff. Yet somehow now...
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/s6Dz7h9.jpg)
Civilization. Look at all the reforms that can be made!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/6vqcYLV.jpg)
Poo poo, the East is West!

The research system for a civilized power is pretty straight forward. You click on what you research, and depending on your literacy (left %), number of clergymen, and other buffs, you gain research points. These research points are used to complete research that give you HUGE benefits. Like this one. Which gives me more research points, so I can research while I research.

DEMOCRATS! FUUUUUU
![[image loading]](http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a10/darkknight713/Random/root_for_us.jpg)
The whole point of the revolutions event chain is to simulate the revolutions of 1848. Unfortunately, it only happens to civilized nations, and right now its the mid 1850s. So I expect the revolution to end any day now.
In the meantime, though, I have to deal with my population turning liberal, which is bad, because they don't want to fight or let the government build factories. Basically it means I can't do anything, which is boring. It also means I may have to give them the right to vote in the future. Which also sucks, unless you happen to be in the Americas. Also, they have increased militancy, which makes them more likely to revolt, and makes the revolt larger. These are bad things.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/JTHjUCM.jpg)
Some twirly guy with a mustache is declaring himself an Emperor? There is only one true Emperor.
![[image loading]](http://media.moddb.com/images/groups/1/3/2055/Mirror_emperor.jpg)
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/CKlmRkv.jpg)
Despite the world being very angry about it, and sending us a letter stating just how angry they are, we are now ready to brutally subjugate reclaim the island of Ezo.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/LjaU7he.jpg)
Unfortunately for the rest of the world, they don't have any way to stop us. For Aizu has a special condition, one I like to call Hasnoarmy.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/jja0Afq.jpg)
Needless to say everything proceeds as planned.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/4XMhhnE.jpg)
Apparently, watching another people get brutally subjugated is enough to distract the common people from their own subjugation. This is something that hopefully won't be happening years from now.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/IMvXTWx.jpg)
The Daimyo sees an opportunity to expand his reach in South-Eastern Asia. By invading the Sultanate of Aceh, it provides a valuable way to control naval traffic in the area, forming a chokepoint of sorts to block European powers from interfering in Tosa spheres of influence. Not that we have one at the moment. At least we're civilized!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/eorefWi.jpg)
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the recently crushed reintegrated province of Ezo. But they do see ome sense in pre-emptively striking an uncivilized nation Emperor knows how far away from Tosa before they can get us.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/4tscl1W.jpg)
After preparations are ready, the Daimyo sends the Army of Tosa down to Indonesia, in a fleet waiting right outside the Aceh capital. A rock was thrown, and then shots were fired, with both sides claiming that the other instigated the issue. Either way, the rock throwing was clearly a good enough premise to annex their entire country.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/th6fIu7.jpg)
The first actual battle fought by Tosa forces was a resounding success. The Aceh army consisted mostly of levied peasants, armed with matchlock guns imported from the Ottoman Empire. There were also groups of swordsmen, whom intended to take advantage of the first volley to charge in at the outnumbered Japanese force.
Unfortunately for them, not only were the Japanese better at swordfighting, they were also better at shooting. They also were using Western flintlock guns, which, while not being state of the art, were enough to overwhelm the Aceh forces completely. After three rapid volleys that decimated the Aceh army, a spontaneous banzai charge that could have been completely shattered by a competent foe slammed into the opposing lines, completely routing them. This battle essentially decided the war, with the remaining troops being hunted down as they fled. The Daimyo was concerned about the low discipline of his troops but was content to first consolidate gains before improving the troops.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/1FlZ3ca.jpg)
He was so concerned about this he totally neglected about a HUGE opportunity in China-namely, a man claiming to be the brother of Jesus Christ-the head of the "Kurisu-chan" religion, or so the Daimyo was told-had started a massive rebellion against the Manchu emperor. While the Manchu were clearly winning, the Daimyo realized he missed a chance to gain a valuable piece of Chinese territory. Oh well, China will have to wait.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/uVV4ccO.jpg)
Finally, victory. Now the Daimyo intended to take a rest, for the world was getting weary of this strange Japanese power that had suddenly become better known than Portugal. With the resources from Aceh, the Daimyo intended to create a powerbase strong enough to throw off the chains of the Shogun on not just himself, but on the rest of Japan. He estimated it would be ten years, ten years of preparation to remove the Shogun. But first peace, peace and consolidation, a chance to breathe...

Oh okay. I haven't tried New Nations yet for this game, as I did for EU/HoI games. I should give it a try, but when it comes to AAR, I would prefer to go for a HoI game most of the times (Kaiserreich, Black Ice). :p

Awesome AAR! I've been playing an awful lot of CKII lately but, also thanks to you, recently came back to Vicky. However, I still have to try my hand at one of the smaller civilisations. Any recommendations what's smaller than the usual suspects but still playable (I probably would fail at something as small as, for example, the mighty Tosa)?

Dutch Ado About Nothing
![[image loading]](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/62/Tokugawa_Yoshinobu_organizing_defenses_at_Osaka_castle-2.jpg/800px-Tokugawa_Yoshinobu_organizing_defenses_at_Osaka_castle-2.jpg)
The Shogun cowardly refuses to call to arms. SHOGUN WE WILL GET YOU. RETURN TO YOUR PRECIOUS OSAKA.
Clearly, the Dutch got pissed that we had kicked out their traders during the expulsion of the Spanish (not my fault that we can't tell the difference). They demanded the territory of Aceh that we took over has always been Japanese territory. Of course, the Daimyo is hardly one to give into a bunch of people that live underwater, both financially and literally.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/UnW4XOyl.jpg)
The Dutch appeared to outnumber the Tosa forces by 3 times. But the Daimyo knew that every man of Tosa was worth 5 Dutchmen. Also, most of the Dutch army would remain in Dutchland. But still! That means we outnumber them!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/TLFLanfl.jpg)
A probing attack by the main Tosa army is sent to occupy defensive positions in Aceh, as the Daimyo believed that the Dutch forces were mostly in their home, leaving the West Indies undefended. Of course that was wrong. The Dutch East Indian Company's private army attacked the Tosa troops before they could dig in properly.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/3bfpk0sl.jpg)
FUCKING DICE CHEATING AI SONS OF BITCHES
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/MavFvXk.jpg)
The battle was a defeat, but not the decisive one that the Dutch wanted. Tosa troops simply had no experience against accurate artillery fire. While the discipline of Tosa served to route the infantry, it was impossible for them to deal with cavalry AND artillery at the same time.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/RVj6FWP.jpg)
After giving it as good as they got, a retreat was ordered to Aceh.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/TW8lBHm.jpg)
Another defeat-this time, however, the Dutch failed to pursue the men of Tosa, believing them defeated. This will be a fatal mistake!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Jt0LNUk.jpg)
To deal with the Dutch forces, the call to arms is raised in Tosa itself. A group of farmers is hastily readied for combat and shipped down to the Aceh territories, while the main army attempts to occupy the province of Siak.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/RgpXeHi.jpg)
The combined forces ambush a brigade of Dutch reinforcements. Hopefully they can do so before the main army finishes its siege of Sibolga.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/UHKzTOG.jpg)
Alas, the Dutch were able to reinforce, and a retreat was ordered, first to Medan, and then after to Sibolga.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/n5wfZZI.jpg)
The Dutch leisurely lay siege to Medan, confident in their superiority. This hubris gave the Tosan forces a much needed chance to dig in and reinforce in a mountainous area-one where the Dutch cavalry would be in a huge disadvantage.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/KkeXwYI.jpg)
Already writing his victory speech, the commander of the Dutch army ordered a full on attack on Sibolga, to "finish off" the men of Tosa. Walking right into a massed infantry volley that nearly took out two entire regiments of infantry and decimating the cavalry unit.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/5GFkSiF.jpg)
In a stunning victory, the first of its kind, an Asian army has decisively broken a European one. The Tosa main army, having learned their lesson from the previous battle, used their sheer numbers to outflank the Dutch infantry line. One regiment of Tosa troops charged at the artillery formations while the rest opened up on the main Dutch line. The artillery were forced to redeploy, and the cavalry to intercept the furious banzai charge, while the infantry soon disintigrated under overwhelming firepower. With the rout of the infantry, the rest of the army panicked, desperately seeking to evade their pursuers. (obviously had nothing to do with dice gods smiling on me this time)
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/HBD8oIH.jpg)
HUNT THEM DOWN!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/kqmMoY3.jpg)
RIKE DOGS! The Dutch colonies are ripe for the taking!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/RUMONAJ.jpg)
Alas, that was not the end. The Dutch managed to cheat their way into having unlimited naval attrition (stupid ai), landing a force of Dutch troops on Shikoku itself! This unholy sight must be destroyed!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/42SIr1M.jpg)
However, Tosa's armies were all in the Indies. None were available to defend the homeland. Also, I somehow lost my boats when I wasn't paying attention. Therefore, in a rather cheap move, the Daimyo disbands the forces of the farmers, allowing them to take private transports back to Shikoku.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/KkSDnQX.jpg)
They are then instantly reassembled for a mighty attack on the Dutch army.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/HRNLyFj.jpg)
The Dutch force is annihilated, their bodies left to fed the carrion birds that don't actually live on Shikoku. Or do they?
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/DJw5REP.jpg)
The remaining Dutch surrender, expecting mercy. The Daimyo keeps them alive to use them as leverage against the Dutch. Surrender is not dishonorable, so long as we are not doing the surrendering.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/OpDlWsG.jpg)
After all, in a matter of months, most of the Dutch colonies were in Tosa hands.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/cNbxFDg.jpg)
The Daimyo uses this victory as a pretense to attempt to seize some Dutch colonial land for himself. Alas, this will come to naught-but it stirs up the people of Tosa to victory.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/2GvpRt5.jpg)
Treachery! While the Daimyo was intending to redeploy his army in Shikoku, a Dutch marine unit landed, ambushing his forces. They took advantage of Shikoku's terrain and were dug-in, inflicting heavy casualties. This had nothing to do with the fact that the farmers were exhausted from travelling 3000 miles.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/lS0GPj9.jpg)
Not to be deterred by this defeat, the Daimyo conscripted more peasants and threw them again into the Dutch. They must not be allowed to regain strength!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/jMusUW3.jpg)
Another defeat. SHAMEFUL DISPLAY!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/ezbZZkf.jpg)
In one last, Herculean effort, the Daimyo personally grabs his closest retainers and their families, and launches one more attack, alas not in time to relieve the defenders.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/z1zQ9aY.jpg)
This time, he caught the Dutch looting the castle. The Dutch were completely surprised by the tenacity of Tosa's sons. FOR THE DAIMIAH! Yet despite occupying most of the Dutch West Indies, Dutch blockades were brutally crushing the economy of Tosa. The Daimyo was unable to get the world to recognize claims on Dutch East Indies territory.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/fcGSbwg.jpg)
DEMOCRATS
A few rogue samurai, merchants, and peasants gathered to discuss issues they had with the current system of rule. They envisioned a future where all people would be treated equally and rather than warmongering would devote resources to bolster the growth of the common man. They viewed the current system as exploiting the common worker. This "Circle of Nine," or "maru-ku," published a book on this, which is known popularly today as "maru-ku-su" or "The Book of the Circle of 9."
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/RDYqGA2.jpg)
After a few more brief skirmishes, the Dutch agree to a white peace. They have been humiliated, and Tosa's status once again rises in the world. For the first time, a Western nation had been forced back by one saw by a "lesser people." The men of Tosa have proven that laughable assumption wrong.

Probably the hardest given that not every nation is quite playable, the economy system and great wars. Start with Europa Universalis III or Crusader Kings II if you wish to grab Grand Strategy.

It's one of the easiest when it comes to strategy and wars, but you have so much more to do than it I would recommend Europa Universalis too.

1. dont say "peaked my interest" 2. Try EU3, CK2 is also nice, but its more about your dynastie and interaction with people, so its quite different from playing a country.

4. Korea me softly with his dong

Tosa: A land where we fear no foreigner. Where a highwayman and a constable will band together to kill foreigners that happen to end up on our island.
Sumeragi strong.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/FeYkxrp.jpg)
Fucking fevers, how do they work?
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/kCuq2Rs.jpg)
Oh no! It appears that the Koreans have thrown off the shackles of the Chinese, forfeiting their right to protection. The Daimyo can see it now-the waves of foreigners that slowly overwhelm the Koreans, teaching them things like democracy and liberalism and micromanagement!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/DESuJQV.jpg)
Tosa will not stand for these foreign incursions. Tosa will do what China could not, and take Korea under her wing.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/lXqwYMO.jpg)
Meanwhile, people are fighting over the right to oppress each other.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/sb3YS18.jpg)
The time is now! To do what Hideyoshi could not!
REMOVE KIMCHI FROM THE PREMISES
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/3niiMFR.jpg)
Rather than invade from the South, like Hideyoshi did, the Daimyo of Tosa proposes a novel tactic. By launching an amphibious invasion at Incheon, it will be possible to bisect Korea, denying both halves the support of the other. He is confident that nobody else will ever come up with this idea ever, such is the genius.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Wen0Q3k.jpg)
Indeed, a great victory against the Korean army REBELS.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/BjmCBdZ.jpg)
The remaining resistance is routed in Seoul.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/ZXgnPUN.jpg)
Meanwhile, Yurop.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/mOjGZhd.jpg)
Evidently, the foreigners, having desired to conquer Korea, do not approve of the Tosa intervention.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/dzfsBpJ.jpg)
A rebel uprising is crushed, despite somehow taking less casualties. The Daimyo makes a note to perform more military research in case the Dutch attack again.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Q4VTMcA.jpg)
It is decided to take the island of Jeju as a naval base, to guard against a potential Chinese threat. This may also involve taking the southern provinces, but only as a buffer zone! Nothing to do with the delicious resources they have!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/LhkrIdU.jpg)
Finally, the Koreans agree to be protected by Tosa. The Daimyo gracefully accepts stewardship of the Korean border provinces, while granting the usual autonomy to the middle provinces. Has nothing to do with infamy. Nope.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/KzIk5jq.jpg)
Holy crap, look at the money!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/mOZnBMe.jpg)
Seriously, my income has just increased by a factor of 8. This protection shit is pretty profitable.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/H9lM20N.jpg)
The Daimyo is caught with a geisha. Despite the fact that this is common practice and that Kurisu-chan religion has not spread on Japan, apparently this pisses off the people that don't have enough money to afford one.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/ZjNm3Cr.jpg)
The Koreans learn fast. Already they are kicking out all the foreigners.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/JNvkxH3.jpg)
The Daimyo is caught with a foreign woman. She must've been on the island when typhoid struck earlier, otherwise known as yellow fever.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Kz9lGIi.jpg)
Ha! Fighting the UK! Good one!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/noSSVtw.jpg)
The Daimyo finds it odd that he somehow had a colonial issue with a strange nation that he has never heard of. A nation where instead of eating rice and fish, they eat skewered meat on a stick. The Daimyo is not sure why anyone would want to eat that, and resolves to get rid of it as soon as possible.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/MISHxa9.jpg)
YEAH, BRING IT YOU DUTCH PANS~
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/pqGTAYa.jpg)
Well fuck. 47 regiments. I didn't even know there were that many people in the Dutch lands. Well...even with our 5:1 advantage, this puts us in some deep shit. But most of the regiments are probably still in their homeland.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/l9J5Oya.jpg)
Oh.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/cTNm5mT.jpg)
The Daimyo tries to intimidate the Dutch by demanding some of their territory. It doesn't work.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/f1qI9Rq.jpg)
THIS IS BUT A TEMPORARY SETBACK. DUTCH WE WILL GET YOU. YOU HAVE ONE CHANCE TO GIVE US BACK THE CLAY.
Alternatively...
WELL FINE, WE DIDN'T EVEN WANT THAT TERRITORY ANYWAYS!
