Its is very linear so far, I would hope for more open world, screw the quest line mentality.
Its not going to be like Morrowind, but it might be good.
i imagine the linearity goes away after the early portion of the game. I think most MMO's are linear at first, from what I read on previews and stuff you can explore and all that just likle in oblivion/skyrim/morrowind. It seems like any news I hear about the game tends to be disappointing. Went from having P2P system while not having anything behind a pay-gate to now having a real-money shop. Then I heard the guilds are restricted to approximately 300 members and that there will be no public auction-house.
Considering the scope of the game, would rather have had a region locked auction-house based on cities or something so to make travelling and scoping out auction-houses fun. But now, I guess that is not a possibility. I personally am really happy they went for a subscription model. The F2P model is so lame I hate it so much. I would rather it just be pay 15$ a month and get everything with no restrictions then paying small portions for w/e I want to unlock. I will agree the no auction house is lame though.
I'm confused, what's their business model right now? Subscription + RM Shop? What does the RM shop contain?
I personally think this game (as every Sequel/AAA MMO in the recent years) gets overhyped by a large amount. Though the no auction house seems interesting. I never was a fan of auction houses. I understand the comfort it brings, but the economy breaks down it is so much less interesting.

Just got the Email, the next beta test is going down Friday the 22nd at 6 pm until Sunday midnight *EST. Level cap is 17, PvP enabled.

I just got my beta invite for the week too.
|
I did as well. Great bday present for me can't wait to play :D
|
I hope there is no charwipe. The first then levels were kind of a pain.

I got a beta invite that came with an actual key a few months ago but never activated it lol and then I get sent another beta invite without a key. They are assuming that I actually used the previous one.
Its all gonna rot in my email. Don't even remember why I wanted to get into beta.

Mostly I do it to judge if I like a games mechanics/get a lay of the land so come release I can start going for what ever I want. Granted I also do most surveys/suggestionaires(spelling?) so that they get the feed back they are wanting for giving me the key/access. Granted you have to take it with a grain of salt because there can and will be issues/bugs that will break the game. But of the many betas I've been in, I haven't seen a single one that was vastly different from the release product content/gameplay wise(Im talking day 1 content, of course they will smooth things out in patches to come.)
It led me to be able to not drop $60 on swtor because the mechanics were not at all what they promised and it turned out to be another wow clone. Think of it like a free demo that you are helping create.

I know what beta's are for. I'm just saying I don't know why I even wanted to be in the beta for this game when I first heard about it. I don't even think I still have the email with the key lol

Congrats! Sent it to you mang. GET HYPED.

Mmmm, PvP enabled...TL gank squad, anyone?
|
Soliciting TL good samaritans for a lovely beta key and I would give you all of my love! <3
|
i applyed a while ago but havent got one yet, what are the chances of getting one?
|
Courtesy reminder to all who play the beta - don't blow off the subsequent survey as it will greatly increase chances of another invite. Check junk mail filters as that's where I found mine from the last beta.
|
Any impressions from anyone? I just started playing WoW and wanted to know how different it might be.
|
Öhm, I registered for the beta long ago (along with 2 friends, one still is full into Morrowind...), so if someone really wants to get rid of his key: Hey, here I am! But seriously, at the moment I have quite some time and would like to to beta-test. Would be the first actual betatest, since the Planetside2 was actually fine and I never got that damn Hearthstone key.

If anyone has a spare key I'd love to see what this is like. If only I could find a game that inspired the same awe as Vanilla WoW did ;_;

I'd be down for a key as well. GF got one, and shes a big fan but she'd be playing alone
