Other than that I'm finding it really difficult to land any arrows or bolts, seems like an experience thing.

Other than that I'm finding it really difficult to land any arrows or bolts, seems like an experience thing. The random fades are disconnects I think. I would assume they're happening because it's beta and the network / server codes aren't optimal yet, so hopefully it'll get fixed soon. Although it might just be a server pressure thing. I've played since midnight without much disconnects, but I had a lot of them earlier today.

Don't get me wrong - I don't mind that it takes longer to get all the gear (as the gold cost is pretty ridiculous per piece). If anything, this adds a value to gold, as it was accumulating ridiculously fast before. The problem I have, is that once you've bought the gear you want, it'll start accumulating again, and we'll be in the same spot as before the revamp. This is a temporary patch at best. Adding a short-term value to money is the only postive with the revamp. This temporary fix comes at the cost of fun and flexibility. With the price of gear so steep as it is, people won't really get the entire specter of gear, which, while probably intended, also somewhat makes the entire customizing system a bit pointless. If you cannot try various combinations and find a good or fun setup for you, then there's no real point in allowing customization. There's a good chance you'll end up with a piece that doesn't fit your playstyle, or doesn't mesh well with the rest of your setup, and then you're left there, somewhat bitter and annoyed, stuck with the same old gear and / or default character for another while before you can grab a new piece that might be another let down. Pretty depressing. And, as I said, the gold value thing is a temporary thing at best anyhow. Either you'll burn out due to being bored with what gear you've bought, or you'll get it all and then the gold will accumulate before. Neither does anything to fix the value of gold, so the entire revamp of the system is poorly thought out, and doesn't adress the actual issue. As for my own improvement, What I'd do to improve the system, would be to keep the previous system, where leveling would unlock specific pieces of gear. In addition, I'd let people "pre-purchase" gear of various levels BEFORE the level required to get it, with a price modifier based on the difference in your level and the gear's level. So, for instance, let's say you're level 15 and want a Scottish sword, which is level 30. Let's say the sword has a base price of 150k gold, , and the level difference would add, uh, a 10% price increase per different level (or whatever factor works). The price for the pre-unlock would then be the base price of 150k plus the level difference price of 225k, totalling for 375k. In addition, to keep money somewhat relevant even as you'd unlocked the base gear, have the purchase cost of mods, upgrades and perk bonuses be pay-per-use, so that the 1k / 2k prices would have to be repaid each time. These are small sums and wouldn't hurt for frequent swapping around, but it would still give money some value. -Niding. I'd appreciate if someone could repost this to their forum, as I haven't got access, and this new system they've added is a poorly thought-out downgrade to the previous one. That's not to say that the old system didn't need fixing - the new one's just, well, poorly thought out.

It's just that the base archers suck and you don't get cavalry.

Lots of variety, lots of customization....BUT 1.- I'm not incredibly pleased by the combat system -----> it's mostly a case of go sideways and hope for a sideways slash to get the kill cause 99% of everything else gets blocked by full armor. There's hardly any precision in the combat to allow for 'proper' targeting of the neck or stuff like that. -----> there's a lot of wild swinging and crazy reckless bashing of clubs and swords all over the place. -----> a two handed sword should easily cut a man in half and yet, people with short spears and weaker weapons are making quicker work of heavily and lightly armed opponents. 2.- If you alt tab your computer chokes 3.- You're busy customizing your character before a fight and then you get interrupted and asked to take a side. You should be given time to finish the customizations and join the battle when you please when, after all, despite being interrupted, you only join the battle once you pick a side, a spawn point and then left click to actually 'spawn'. 4.- the fighting styles, imperial, standard and milanese all look pretty much the same. I was hoping for significant differences in both appearance and feel/practicality. 5.- it's a bitch to aim with a lance when you're mounted but it's even worse to try and hit someone with a sword...maybe i'm doing something wrong. 6.- sometimes you meet up with fun people...and there's no apparent way to friend-list them... even worse, sometimes you're in the middle of a great game and you get kicked out randomly out of nowhere with 0 error messages whatsoever. 7.- perks, or 'specialties' should have more than 2 slots each to allow for further specialization... I don't give a shit about officer perks, I want to mass all the archer ones...but I can't =/ 8.- Some weapons and pieces of armor, items in general, don't let you see a preview until you've bought them... I really hope they make it better
