My minecraft is SinkableRuby , and i want to be a unicorn! I would really appreciate this if i could join, and i pinky promise i wont grief. I'll respond to both of you here and simultaneously take the opportunity to clarify this for anyone else:
Most of the people we have playing right now are known by us to some extent, meaning they are either from the TL brony community, or they're a friend-of-a-friend, that kind of stuff. Outsiders are welcome to come check us out, but if you want to join the server, I will need to talk to you before I give you the IP or set you up with permissions to do anything in there.
I don't want to make people jump through hoops just so they can come play a game with other gamers, but the server is a pet project of the TL brony sub-community, and we have to prioritise them over anyone else. Beyond that, we want to make sure that anyone who joins are chill people that we would like to have around.
Equally importantly: This is a My Little Pony themed server. We have had a few people asking to join our server who had no interest in the show. A bit strange, and I always ask them, "do you want to play with us, or do you just want to play Minecraft?" If the latter, there are plenty of other servers to join, and they'd probably be better off there anyway. After all, being MLP themed means that whatever you build can't be too thematically broken -- or, as I put it earlier, "no anti-gravity buildings made of lava."
Even so, we do have a couple of people in the server who don't watch the show, and who are just here to hang out with us and build cool looking stuff. It's not off limits by any means, but - and here it is again - I do have to talk to you people first.
Lastly, if you aren't a part of the TeamLiquid brony community, then you have to be pretty good at building things in Minecraft, and you need some modicum of aesthetics and talent. We're not here to accommodate you; you're the ones who want to play with us, so you have to bring something to the table.
If, after all of that, you are still interested in joining our project, then don't hesitate to get back to me. Either talk to me directly through PMs on TeamLiquid, or drop by our community's IRC channel: #tlponies on QuakeNet. (Webclient here if you don't have an IRC client.)
We love meeting new cool people in general, and our servers are pretty awesome hangouts so you'll have a lot of fun there. If in addition to that you want to help make this Minecraft project bigger and better, then that's completely awesome and we'd love to have you.

Dear community,
When I first started work on this project, I wasn't entirely sure how it would go. Was there sufficient interest? What would we do on the server? What plugins would we have, and how would people want to play? I hadn't ever put together a community server before. I had only rudimentary knowledge of servers and plugins. I certainly didn't know freaking Linux.
A week later, I was administrating a rented host machine in Germany, running Linux scripts, customizing plugins to suit our needs, and hacking away at Java code trying to crowbar petty annoyances into submission. The server was laggy, the fly mod was buggy. The work piled up, and I missed my deadline not once, but twice. It has been long, hard work.
To any of you whom I've been ignoring or happened to be cross with over the past few weeks: I sincerely apologise. It's a character flaw of mine to want things "just so", and with the long weeks of hammering this thing together, there's been little time to just sit back and enjoy it. There's certainly been little time to just watch you all work on awesome things, and enjoy the creativity and the community.
Well, I'm doing it now, and I've come to the conclusion that you guys are amazing.
Let me just summarize the situation for all of you since it bears remembering: We are a sub-community of Minecraft players from a sub-community of My Little Pony fans from a community site for professional StarCraft. How much more niche can you freaking get, and why are there still so many of you working hard to create cool things?
I've said this so many times before, but I'll say it again: This community is freaking awesome, and I thank you all for letting me be a part of it. I wouldn't put in this much time and effort for anyone else.
It has been long, hard work. And it's been so cool.
I take away from this project a great many things. I now know how to work the basics of Linux. I've improved my organizational skills. I'm tweaking scripts again, and I have an interest in getting back to programming. I've learned a bit of patience, and a lot of acquiescence.
But more importantly, it's given me close friendships with amazing people like Tee, who went from lurking in the shadows to saying, "You know what? I'll buy us a dedicated server we can host this on, then spend days and weeks out of my time teaching some jackass Norwegian dude how to use Linux so that he can operate the server whenever I'm not available to exude my field of concentrated win."
It's given me the privilege of working for days on big in-game projects alongside the awesome people in the Shadowbolts: Raelcun, Requiem, Camail, Aranarth, and freaking StarDragon who keeps buying shit for this community when he doesn't have to, I mean the Mare-A-Thon prize giveaways and the Fluttershy plushie weren't enough for you so you had to go buy us a dedicated Ventrilo server, too? I mean what the f
It's given me the opportunity to wander around and look at the creativity of all the participants, to get to know you all better and to enjoy your company.
And it's given me something more to work on, another way to give back to this community which makes me smile every goddamned day.
There is one more favour I'd like to ask of you all. Yes, I'll be fishing for compliments here, but screw it - it's Christmas!
Can you all please let me know what you think about the server, and how you feel about how I've been running it? At least, tell me how you like it here? On the whole... I don't actually know. There's been precious few thank-yous, and few straight up compliments, or even comments. I ask this with apprehensive hope, because this project has been a gigantic task to get off the ground, and it is ever the lamentation of artists to fret over the opinions of those who partake in their labours of love.
Either way: Thank you. Thanks for putting up with me through all this even when I'm being an ass, thanks for making working on this a blast, and thanks for making amazing stuff in our server. You're all great, and I hope I can keep working on this project.

I could write alot here and perhaps I will in the future but for now I just want to extend my gratitude for the Minecraft server, its been alot of fun and things are really running smoothly now, I appreciate the work that has been put into it
even though i'm just a lazy user I do enjoy logging on in the mornings to refill my apple chest a little after hungry ponies been munching them during the european night / american evening and wandering around enjoying the wonderful creations folks come up with.
I have met some amazing people in this since I became a part of this community, and I can say with some certainty you are one of them Cane
Thank you to everypony involved with the running of the MC server and the greater TL brony community as a whole, and merry christmas!

I can't imagine the amount of work you guys have been doing behind the scenes to keep this little pet project up and running. And since the last time I logged in before I left, it was running amazingly. Keep up the good work, as I want a wonderful Liquestria to come back to after break. (plus I need to finish my diamond... it bothers me that there is still some dirt up there)

Aye cane, Just like Zounds said, HUGE THANK YOU to both you and Tee, for this amazing server.
How much time and effort you two put into it is amazing, literally seeing you be up for like 16 hours in skype at a time just working on the server. + Show Spoiler +While I did nothing but help make you less productive xD Not to mention setting up the whole server like 3 days before the Mare-a-Thon, your day was all ponies. And is it very easy to see that all the effort did pay off and come to light as how well the server's mod works and how much it feels like a unique pony server. We have our very own Liquestria to log into now, and it feels so clean and natural. :D
Everyone in the server is amazing, and fun to hang out with, glad to hear some of your voices over Ventrilo now to boot. Just fun to fly around in there hang out and see what people are building.
So once again thanks to both Cane and Tee and the awesome people in the server that make it a blast to hang out in.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Ehh your post needs more pictures of the storage... jk jk
What you guys did for all of us that use the minecraft server is amazing. I honestly don't know where you find all the time! I've spent so much time playing on the minecraft server since it went up, and even bought my own account just to play with you guys. This server is by far the most fun I've ever had playing minecraft, and with the new vent server (thanks StarDragon!), getting to actually talk to you guys while playing makes it even more enjoyable. While I haven't done much in the past few days between being busy with family and with friends and my framerate at times making building unbearable, I hope to try to give back to the server making stuff look nice (EVERYTHING MUST BE SYMMETRICAL /ocd), and just doing whatever I can to help. The server is doing a lot better than I first expected, which is awesome seeing all the work you put into it. I'm always afraid I'm going to log in at what should be peak hours and find that there is no one on, but to my surprise there will be 8+ people on. It's really great seeing the server going to use, and I hope it continues to be played on by all of you awesome people for a very long time.
Thanks again for setting up such an awesome server, you awesome people (btw did I mention you're awesome?)

Cane, you are the man.
You are so kind and helpful that I don't really know what to say. You've helped me understand that Norwegians aren't just a bunch of bad drivers that invade Sweden during the summers, at least one of you is really cool. And to the rest of the Shadowbolts: You are awesome, keep it up.
I really love this server, it feels nice too have somewhere to go and just be yourself.
Merry Christmas everybody!

I really like the server, I just wish my internet connection wasn't so horrid, it's the only reason I can't be more active. When I log in sometimes it just keeps disconnecting me D: I definitely enjoyed the idea, and think it works really well and I'm glad you worked so hard on it because it turned out really well.

Let me just say that it's been a while since I've dumped so many hours into a game. I've never played minecraft before, so I can't compare, but I've had a ton of fun playing around in the server with you guys.

Well as new that I am, I really enjoy hanging out with the crew whether it be on IRC, or the MC server. And i really enjoy listening to the people on vent, even though I don't talk on it. I appreciate all the hard work that was put in this server, even wishing I could help. I am more mysterious to you guys because I'm more new to the people on TL, and am a very quiet guy, but I enjoy all the hard work and the joys I've had this year were amazing. I got to spend this December with bronies and laugh at the jokes and troubles of the people on the MC server with bloody's farm and the exploding candy cane! However, I still feel a little bad because I never got to help, and i feel more of a solo kind of guy because I don't really talk much and feel a bit nervous around you people. Yet, I always enjoy listening to the awesomeness of you guys. This server really helped me enjoy the company of other strangers, from a site I visit just to watch starcraft all day. Who knew it would change me this much? I wanna wish everyone a Merry christmas, especially Cane, Gary, and SD for hosting Mare-A-Thon which helped me find you guys, and also for helping me get associated with the people here, and also thanks for giving me the best gift I could ever hope to get; a whole month of ponies and awesome times with people all over the world, while having a good laugh and getting killed by OP alicorns! (i hope you know who i'm talking about ) thanks for letting me enjoy this experience, and maybe someday you guys can learn more about me! I hope you ponies will someday force me to join on the projects, and show me how a MC server works because I'm so clueless on the creativity side + Show Spoiler +Dear community, When I first started work on this project, I wasn't entirely sure how it would go. From the simplest of seeds...

These was just words I wanted to write, free to you to read.
Dear Cane, and by the way, dear community,
I so delightfull to write these words to thanks you, as my little level of english allows me to.
It was a September of 2011, as my life was darkly eaten by my first work, which I hated so much. The days were all the same, I woke up amazingly tired to have a travel through my city which took only one hour of my time, doing a boring stuff at work, with none by my side and with no noises around in a dark and cold room before my screen, then eat with people I don't like neither and mimick some smiles when their stare land on my eyes, then go again in that room and work again, to finally travelling back to home (one friggin hour once again) and land in front of my computer, reading some stuff, playing some guitar and go to sleep. That was my life before, fortunately I had friends and girlfriend but no time to spend with them, which I regret but eh, work is work.
One saturday night, at one of my friends' house, they began to talk about how Brood war was and about all the LAN we did on this game and on WC3 before, which period miss us really, when we still alltogether and sharing some fun. The subject drifted soon about Starcraft 2, game we all rushed since the first day to complete the campaign and to be amazed by the scenario and such, but we didn't ladder in anyway or so (some games for me, still), and they talked about a duo of french caster I began to watch as soon as I get back home.
In one of these videos, the casters talked about a website which are their reference for all news in E-sport, were they get stuff to present players, teams, maps, builds and such. This website, as we all know it, is Teamliquid.net. I took a look quickly to see how it look like and I closed the browser after, to sleep and get on my routine again.
As some of us use to, I frequent the website called Memebase, because I'm kind of a veteran of Internet and particulary like the kind of humor some poeple may have in these comics / macro images and such. This is were I got my first contact with ponies: a pony picture made the front page, with an obscure meme I can't remember.. I first found the drawing kind of nice, but I told to myself this kind of material is not for me anyway, while headbanging to badass metal. But still this picture stayed in my mind, quickly submerged by the stress of work and the deadline coming too fast, and the indeciveness of my boss ruining my work, until one day an idea arise.
I where laying on the bed with my girlfriend, both of us were on their laptop, checking the usual stuff (Mail, facebook, youtube, and for me only, memebase) when another pony meme emerged on the front page. I was kinda intrigued by these drawing of colorfull ponies emerging in the Internet for a reason I completely ignored at this point, and I told to my dear : "Darling ? Want you to watch an episode of My Little Pony with me ?" She stared at me in silence for few but long seconds. "...Are you serious ?" "It's a anime, why wouldn't we take a look ?" "... Why not..." Then we began to watch the first episode. The first part achieved we were amazed by the quality of the stuff but the doubt stayed in our mind as we watch the second one. Then we get hooked so madly. We watched several others episodes this night, and we began to discuss of it. The next week I watched the whole first season by myself and some of the episodes with her. In her side, she began to draw ponies, and to show it to her friends.
Then one day I came back to find some advices on the Terran Strategy on TL, as I began to play SC2 again with a friend in 2v2. The only thing I saw this day was three little words, in one side of the screen :"My little po.." under the General Section of the forum.
I clicked.
A grin began to grow on my face. This is no private jokes from the Internet nor an obscure fashion out of nowhere, I'm not a weirdo no more. There is people who DOES like this kind of thing, and who shares each other and talk about it on the web. The discovery of that thread was the key for me to embrace my fanhood without fear and to enjoy myself as part of something awesome. I began to read the thread, then I noticed a IRC channel, which I joined in the next minutes. It was one of the warmest welcome I ever experienced on the Internet from a community I didn't know, from people I never met before. Thanks to GaryOak and some others, I stayed on the channel the whole night talking to people who shared the same interest with : Starcraft and ponies. And I began to come back some days, to have fun, to talk, to laugh, to share. And by the way, everyone was kind with me, talked to me as never before, and we shared alltogether in one place we know to have this kind of ambiance. I don't know who to thanks for such a place on the huge net, but this is definitely my favorite amongst all. I spent numerous days and night on that channel, because I was with people I liked, and who seems to like me too.
The days went too fast for me. Really too fast.
I spent my whole days at work waiting for just one thing : Go back to home soon and embrace my fanhood and share it with people.
For now, what can I say ? I've met some wonderfull people when times weren't that kind for me, I've met a wonderfull universe, characters and stories as mine was not that interesting. For what I can say, I'm not particulary awesome in any way. I'm just a pile of blood and bones which interact with other piles of same materials. But what is awesome is what we do. The spread of the fandom amazes me in so many ways, as I begin to discover other bronies, who share much more than talk about the show. They create songs, stories, pictures from beyond all imagination, they put pure fuel in the flame of the bronyhood, and making it live on and on days after days, inspiring a lot of people to do the same thing. And I'm glad to participate to such a movement, to have met the people I have met and to share its magic with them.
I am not that talentfull. I mean by that I've not found any domain or range of skill I particulary shine in. I've practised a lot of sports, playing tons of games and played some instrument but still, we may call me a blank flank at this point.
But what I'm glad for is to have launched the idea we talk about : The minecraft server, Liquestria, call it how you want. I want to thank you, anyone, everyone who have put a hoof on that land and who have ever picked or put a block in here, and to anyone who want to join us in. This is a dream coming true once again : Be part of a community which I like, and have something, somewhere, somewhat to share, to work on, to laugh with, to be amazed by, to tell everyone how awesome we are and how we welcome anyone wanting to join us. I hope one day Liquestria will become famous and our very small community can expand to share fun with other peoples, to have our very little home world of awesomeess, just few clicks away.
I want first to thanks GMarshall, to have opened this thread among TL and to have shared your epicness with us and launched a called to every other wandering bronies. Thanks to you to show me the way in here =)
I want to thanks GaryOak, which was the very first one to welcome me on the IRC channel and to have talked to me as I was still a perfect stranger in here. Your fanfiction is on great ways and I'm still craving for the last chapters, as the first hooked me into the IRC ! You are awesome, and keep on the way.
I want to thanks everypony that I've encoutered on the channel and the forum, countless people with who I shared some time to help them, to laugh with them, to discuss, and making by this way a place I want to stay for ever.
I want to thanks Cane, which beside the fact this guy is allready awesome enough, have dedicated his entire body, soul, spirit, mind, karma, essence into making the server a reality and up and running, and Liquestria as we know it for now. I've spent numerous hours on skype with him to share laugh and kidness, ideas and theories for the server, cutting my sleep patterns to talk with. You are one of the most kind person I ever met in my whole life, and for that, a big BIG thank to my favorite alicorn.
Tee, I don't know you that much for now, but I want to thanks you for participating much more than anyone would have expected from a stranger in a project I tossed one day in a IRC channel. This guy deserve to be among the mythology of liquestria as the founder of the world.
And thanks to you, who have read my post entirely. I miss some thought on the road back here, so please forgive me If my ideas drift a bit, and my flawfull english.
I may not be present these days (work again...) but Merry Christmas to everyone, and Merry Eve day (the 31th I mean) ! I'll offer a present for the community on the server but I may be late... Don't be angry... please... *fluttervoice* Fine, here is the first picture of it... Too bad my camera is broken, no ?
-Your kindfull, Requiem

I'll probably going to make a long post in the MLP thread about my experience as a brony, but I want to post some relevant stuff here.
First of all, thank you guys for putting up with me. I know I'm a bit of a extreme personality and its really nice to know that I have a place.
Second, CANE. HOLY SHIT CANE. You are the wizard of our community. Everything big that has happened is because of you. Anyone can fill in a community (you'd object though, stfu I'm making a point), but you make everything happen that is cool in this community. +1 to you my friend.
This server is so cool, I've said it many times before and I will continue to say it every day I log in. I have never spent this much time on any sort of public project before. It's something about us...it just makes me want to DO things for you guys! I want everything to be awesome and I want to spend hours upon hours on vent and be bored with everyone else and just talk and hang out and build and rape and build and..... >_>.
There is still a lot of work to be done, and I still have a few more iron picks to kill. I hope this never ends.
Cya on the server,
Adam

A Wall killed you, there is no evidence!
That's like if you would be blaming Raelcun for a death of drowning
