Either way really frustrating. Kinda want to get my ass kicked on ESEA and see how awesome 128 tick really is. I played 2 MM games in 2 days, had 1 spinbot + 2 obvious wh/Trigger, et one obvious wh+ some sort of no recoil aim bot in the other and one suspicious guy. Fuck that, I love to play with my buddies but it's just not worth it. I was super close to eagle before this giant hacker bullshit started, and now I'm back to low DMG, even though I've gotten better according to my ESEA ranking. If you're DMG you totally can play in ESEA, the player base is anything from DMG to global. You'll be amazed by the servers, and even tho it seems there is a lot more BM going on on NA, usually people are cool and playing against SMFC/Global helps improve a lot. I'd say it's 100% worth it the 6 bucks. Didn't try CEVO yet though. (I've got a referal link if you wanna sign up : http://play.esea.net/subscribe/?r=695559 costs you nothing and potentially gives me some monies) And just as I write that , http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=news&d=comments&id=14038 pretty cool!

I played one ESEA season with friends even though I didn't like the organization since that Bitcoin fraud scheme they ran and that they had the guts to call an "april fool's prank." Anyway, the 128 tick is much better than 64, but the admin of the league was so fucking inept I never want to deal with those fucks again. Half our matches were in servers which had some rubberbanding problems and they wouldn't let us switch servers. While it's arguably better than 64 tick since the rubberbanding happened every 1-3 minutes, you'd expect more from a paid service, especially when some freak bullshit sometimes happens when it rubberbands. Also one time we showed up to a match and the scheduling was mutually upon. It happened to be on some american national holiday and it got cancelled at the last minute, which normally wouldn't be allowed but America fuck yeah (none of my Canadian buddies give a flying fuck about US holidays so we showed up for our game). So it was rescheduled but none of my team could make any of the rescheduling opportunities so we forfeited our first match of the season, it was like the 8th match or something. 3 of my friends were kind of new/casual so we had won like one map and lost the other games (cept the ones that we had won by default because the other team never showed). Anyhow, the guys are busy with lives and gfs and wives so it sucks to show up to a match, everyone's in the server and suddenly we're told "heads up turns out they're not showing and you'll have to make space in your busy schedules a second time this week all at the same time". Anyway, decent service but the people who run that whorehouse are assholes. So I'm not using their services again and I'll suffer in silence (mostly) while playing in the Valve servers that belong in the middle ages.

Sucks that you had problems though..amazingxkcd of course you can, 128 tick means that on server side stuff is checked twice as often, so you won't have sprays that only hit twice when they should hit 5 times.. 120hz would be better for you in general (movement, aiming and stuff), but it shouldn't prevent you from taking advantage of 128 tick. Valve's argument was that when playing on 128 tick, your client also checks twice as often what happens, so it uses twice as much CPU ressources. On the side note, played against "joker - global smurf" today, guy was dmg and the shadier motherfucker ever, always a pleasure :') I guess he was boosting the novas in his party..

Is it the fast acceleration or necessity of precision that make GO servers work the way they do?

Surely you always want extra, but my gut instict says 64 shouldn't be as inconsistent as it is. In many games 30 ticks seems somewhat playable even with loads of fast moving stuff going on. Is it the fast acceleration or necessity of precision that make GO servers work the way they do? can you name some fps game that uses merely 30 tick? because iirc some of the battlefield games do and everyone knows how horrible and inconsistent feeling the actual infantry vs infantry gunplay is in those games, the fun comes from messing with the vehicles and the huge maps also the shooting mechanics in these sort of games tend to be much simpler, cs has intricate recoil patterns and a lot of advanced mechanics like shoulder peeking etc. which make an as accurate as possible representation of the game state more important than in more "casual" shooters one thing that anyone should be able to recognise easily between 64/128 tick is how bunnyhopping works, personally i can also very easily tell it when spraying with rifles. it's hard to put it into words, it just simply feels more "fluid".

All Quakes except Quake live uses 10-30 tickrate. Quake 2 has 10 tickrate and its hit reg is perfect. Then again there is no lag compensation and you feel little delay even playing on lan.
