From what I played on mm I don't know about them for comp play. Cache seems good enough for mm. Ali seems ok but not there yet.
Agency is the best as far as hostage maps go (beats office imo). But if the CT don't rush on the right to control that room (beside round stairs) at the beginning it's really hard to capitalize. It's why you see so many imba games. I'd give a little boost to CT to access that right room.
Seaside and Gwalior could have some potential I guess but they are so small.
I've tried the other maps once or twice but I don't queue for them anymore, they seem too broken for competitive play.
I've played a shit ton lately and just hit 80 mm wins. I've went as low as 1 gold star and just got promoted (Star?), well the one above double ak.
See you online !

congrats, that's some nice improvement!
i was originally placed into master guardian 2 (the single AK w/ border) and after ~400 compet. wins i made it to SMFC (1 below global elite.) keep at it!

When I started I had the AK rating and then dropped to one gold star and now up to three gold stars again. I have been only playing the new maps though. I really like them EXCEPT ali fuck that map.

So it's been like 5 days and I still can't play. Keeps saying it couldn't find me a server and to raise my ping threshold, has anyone ever had this problem? (I know for certain it's not my internet)

I can't ever get in unless I set the threshold to max, but it'll put me in servers with 70-150 ping.

Well I finally set my max ping to 100 and got a game in a minute with 90 ping. Would rather not play at all than play with 90 ping

finally got my first bravo case drop, put it on the market right away to repay the cost of the pass. i hope the prices stay as insanely high as they are now (6.20+ per case,) this pass would really turn into a sick moneymaker.

I decided to try competitive matchmaking to make use of my bravo pass. I know a bit about it, played old CD on lan parties and stuff but I'm rather bad player. I was something like 5-15, could have been worse... but considering I didn't know map at first at all I felt ok with it. Managed to get a hostage on 1:2, one half-missed flashbang on me suggested me where is enemy and I took him down leaving myself at very low life. I follower carefully to hostage rescue zone and even when I got really close I saw an enemy, so I knew where he was while he didn't noticed me. The problem was... I didn't realised the big red line is the hostage zone. I checked my radar really quick but in all that stress I just noticed that I was yellow-shining dot. I died shortly after and got immedtiately kicked midgame. Heartbreaking : (

I really feel like votekicking players shouldnt be in competitive games, it makes very little sense for it to be there

I've votedkicked 3-4 teammates and gone on to win 4v5. I ain't complaining.

Preferable to someone purposefully screwing up your team just to be a troll, at least. I wish there were some way to make it less abusable, but I don't know that's possible.

Well people try frequently to kick people they don't like or they think aren't good enough. But I have never experienced one of that really going through. I once kicked a player to get the option to surrender. Now I know it doesn't work that way :D
Oh yeah and for Operation Bravon and every new pack in the future: first come, first serve. I bought it quickly and made the money up with selling crates (yeah, as stupid as it is) but the price is constantly dropping. Soon it won't work anymore. And I have nightmares of the time when people don't pay for crates anymore.
But I just don't get it: pay 3 euros for a crate, get a key for 1.80 and then you have to do it like 10 times to get something worthwhile. And still you could have just paid the 7 Euros for the thing you want. Note to parents: don't give your 14yo son unlimited access to your credit card.

That slim chance of being able to make up the cost of case + key with something big like StatTrak AWP Boom or Knife or AK or something.
I wonder if the Bravo cases/Alpha drops will be discontinued after it's over. Then those drops will instantly skyrocket in price again! :O

I really wish they include more maps in the official matchmaking.

It really should be there. I regularly queue as 4, and last night we had a russian guy on d2 that just spammed russian in teamchat from the start of the match, then 2 rounds in he started to TK us out of spawn (mostly me as I was playing mid/B with him)... just randomly knife me in the back to sub half hp or shoot me in the head once then run off into tunnels and die, beyond frustrating.
9 rounds in we're 8-1 down and he's just shot me in the face outside B and he's burnt his last chance to stay in the game, sorely trying my patience. We kick him and go on to draw the match 15-15, which would have 100% been a loss if there was no kick function (and to be fair 100% a win with any half decent random MM player).
-----
On another note, I've been getting random 2-3 second game freezes at extremely inopportune times, like going round a corner or in the middle of a firefight, but also getting them during freezetime or when nothing's going on. After checking console, after every freeze I get something like "stopped 4 attempted inconsistences" or something random like that (will check the exact wording tonight). Just wondering if anyone has has the same issue and knows a fix? Also get a ton of random console errors about .mdl files and various other things, should I just delete my local content and re-download the game?

oh at least with bravo there are plenty. it's just that most servers play DustII... it's a good map but hell it's annoying to see the same stuff every day :/

with the addition of the new mirage and cache, you kinda gotta stop complaining about map variety. we have like 7 great viable maps now on rotation

I've never understood why people need more maps than Dust 2.

And many people have played on those maps for ten or so years. It's not that they're bad maps, but some variety would be appreciated

It's the ten years playing which makes me not want to try new maps. Counter-strike 'is' the maps. I've always found play office or some other bad map feels like a completely different game.
I think the only times I'd get bored of playing Dust 2 when I was seriously into CS was if I had played it for 4-5 hours that day or I wanted to play an aim/fun map..
