Me and my brother, playing from the same connection, frequently get random lag spikes that lasts for 5-6 seconds at seemingly random times. So far it has never happened on any non-valve servers. Sometimes it has gone days without it happening, sometimes it happens multiple times in the same round. What happens is just that the game freezes, we get the "WARNING: Connection Problem. Auto-disconnect in: 00:25" and then it resumes in 5 or so seconds.
Apart from the lag it's all fine, we rarely ping above 30 and I have neither loss or choke.
This is pretty much ruining playing matchmaking because we'll just randomly lag at times and drop rounds without us being able to do shit about it.
Does anyone else have the same issue or have any idea how to fix it? Was playing the other night and 2 of my teammates spiked to 1k ping for rounds at a time. It was infuriating.
I don't even know if our ping spikes. I guess it would make sense that we wouldn't see the ping spikes if we lose connection from the server temporarily

Nice to see Valve actually seeming like they give a shit about this game again... I feel like FPS developers have been fucking things up for the genre for too long, nice to see that one company seems to be starting to listen. You should. It actually works surprisingly well for being a matchmaking with random people. At least at the higher ranks, people often hold their positions as CTs, try to ECO togather etc. It is of course even better if you search as a team of five people and have mumble/vent running in the background. It has some disadvantages to manual PUGs where you can blacklist people you don't like etc. But it really makes up for it by being so convenient. Just press one button and then play a scrim. Did they implement cross-platform yet? Can the PC Master Race finally scrim against consoleFPS scrubs? I'm pretty sure there is no cross platform play. I don't even think the console version is updated at the same time or using the same process as the PC version so I don't know how that would work.

The CoD and Halo kiddies would just accuse anyone at a CAL-O or higher level of hacking anyway.

Did any of the new cases start dropping yet or are they waiting until the next item drop cycle?

Have you guys even seen footage of csgo on xbox? Just look for vids on YT. Its just awful. Its is absolutely meant for the PC (which we knew already)

Well when CS:GO first came out the UI was all very console-y. It's clear they wanted to do a CS for consoles (for whatever reason), but ultimately that's pointless because the gun mechanics in CS don't translate to console.

Operation Bravo maps are great.

Mine stutters so damn much. Ive redownloaded the map enough times and verified the cache enough times to make someones head explode. I really dont know what to do. Ive updated all my drivers and everything.

man......i'm really tempted to pick up a bravo pass, mostly for cache on matchmaking and extra drops, but i just know that the price will eventually be discounted so i can't bring myself to spend the $6 dollars on it.

I bought it and found one of these new chests and sold it for $10 ^^. Gotta love valve economies. I head some fps stutter but nothing serious.

Good Lord lag spikes are the most annoying thing in the world. 4-5 seconds of complete lack of information and teleporting half a mile across the map when I come back. Jeese...
In other news, I'M INVINCIBLE TODAY! Played several games where I nearly single-handedly carried my team, and I played a game with people much higher than my skill level and did the best on my team. My reaction times and aim are on point like never before! Now I know how the hackers feel, it's real good.
I really hope you guys get to have this day. It's so motivating.

For the past few days any time i queue i get an error after a few minutes saying that valve couldn't find a server for the ping I have set, which is 50. I used to never have this problem and my internet is fine in every other game and when downloading so it's not that. I don't want to increase it because playing at like 90 ping on an east coast server is unbearable. Anything I can try to do to fix this other than raising my threshold for ping?

When I get 90 ping I'm happy.

I thought about it as an investment. If you bought Operation Bravo, you could potentially make your money back + profit if you score some good item drops. I made about 10 bucks selling an Operation Bravo case. If you get it somewhat soon (like next day or 2) and get some solid drops you can at least severely cheapen the price you'll end up paying.

It's cause valve's matchmaking goes down occasionally in the afternoons. Not really ping related.

yeah, i ended up buying it once i saw how much bravo cases were selling for. but sadly i've already gotten 2 weapon case drops this week, so probably by the time i finally find a bravo case the price'll be like 3 bucks or something. oh well, fingers crossed.

If you have a bravo pass, those are separate from the regular ~4 per week. However I'm not sure how many bravo stuff you get. Reading it might be an additional 4 bravo drops (2 cases/2 weapons).
