I wonder if they would have reacted the same way if it wasn't "NA's last hope" Valve's decision was dumb. I can get behind the frustration NA fans could still have after two years, although that's sometimes a bit overboard with the salt, yes.

Yeah but its just surviving right, it leaves people with this "what could have been" feeling. I dont think IBP ever would have been much beyond the level you see right now but thats just my gut opinion and that doesnt fly with NA fans. They got denied the chance to see the team become great (or well.... not great), and that in of itself is a pretty sad thing. I dont think the punishment fit the crime personally. Punishment and policing should allow the opportunity for redemption upto a point. Most people start thinking like that if its a team that would represent them even if they didnt think like that initially.

http://www.eleague.com/news/2016/8/25/eleague-announces-schedule-for-second-season-of-csgo?sf34316919=1 Pared down the group stage games, took away the confusing playoff format, and cut it down to 16 teams. Still a shitty, drawn-out tournament format, though. Why would you do groups in a league? Ugh.

- it removes the stakes that group + bracket matches add. At least with these groups, you have kind of a mini tournament played over the week, whereas standard league matches would be less interesting. - it would be hard to get the teams frequently to fly to the US, and even a good planning won't prevent teams from having to get there at least once or twice two weeks in a row (or stay for two weeks)...
