Valve majors are great and all that, but they make most tournaments worthless, im not making excuses but it feels like that. The idea of getting invited just for being top 8 means you could drop the ball every single month and step it up near or in the major and GGWP holy shit guardian that collateral shot

Where did it go wrong...? it's as clear as water, after reading kioshima's statement again he has been taken as a scapegoat for the problems within the team and as far as i can tell i'm sure happy and kennys are the main problem here apex and nbk are the only tryharder here you can't go to the major losing to NRG 3 weeks before this is a joke

The internal issues are here, there was a confidence issue between kio and the other four apparently, but further than that, there's not much that hints at what the real problem(s) is(are). NBK has experience as a leader, he has an excellent game awareness and versatility. Thing is, that's not enough and he might not be an extremely good leader to compensate for how bad the team fares right now.

flash news boys, you cant be at the top all the time, you will fail, you will hit the bottom, you just need to work your way up slowly, doing what you think its best. edit: some wording

Even Barcelona had one flash news boys, you cant be at the top all the time, you will fail, you will hit the bottom, you just need to work your way up slowly but surely, doing what you think its best. Everybody understands that, but Nv's fall was sudden and rough. Teams rarely slump so hard that they'll go from top3 in the world to losing against some random US team with a stand-in. Odds are Astralis will mop the floor with the team that beat Nv, remember that those two teams used to be near the same level. It's not that they're not at the top, it's how fast they've dropped from the top. When Fnatic starts to faulter, it won't be this dramatic at first. A Fnatic slump would be them losing to other top10 teams more often than usual, but it would be very surprising if Fnatic lost a bo3 to some random team.

Unless Guardian shows up bigtime against Astralis(very possible actually, he has been looking gooooood). I don't think Navi will beat Astralis in a bo5(finals is Bo5 right?).

I believe it's a best of 3. Nonetheless Nv was only very briefly "unquestionably" the best team in the world and that was many months ago before the Fnatic era, they dropped down from there over the second half of 2015 or whatever but this current slump is 1 or 2 notches down from where they were even in late 2015. Late 2015 Nv was not at their peak, now they're at their worst probably since the LDLC days, despite global esports cup that they won - it wasn't the highest level of competition.
