I used a fair number of regrets after that point to spec out of both Blood Magic and Unwavering Stance, as well as general optimization, so the overall build looks quite a bit different now, with two completely distinct skill trees. I wanted to be able to a) Run auras (not really practical when running BM) and b) take advantage of evasion on gear and auras. Current passives (I've noticed Alkaizer's passives are very, very similar but not identical): ground slam passives at Lvl 86
You should be able to do something similar starting from the templar node, but starting out might be a little rough, as the templar area is the last group I took as Marauder. I'm sure the overall passives would look quite a bit different.
The only remaining goals for my build are to drop some resistance passives (5 nodes gained) and possibly the Life Leech, dmg/hp detour as well (10 nodes gained), but I don't have a clear goal in mind for what I could reasonably achieve with 15 passives. Nothing immediately jumps out to me as being better than what I currently have.

Maybe it's because I had the stun immune talent, but I honestly expected it to be much harder considering how much I've heard about the boss. The academy boss was actually much scarier, damn books hit me for almost 4k. her firestorm can kill you in 2 seconds at 75 fire resist. but it is pretty easy to dodge if you run circles around her. the othre attacks do no dmg

Something something patch added "Ranged physical attack damage" support OPOPOP.

I was expecting a Spectral nerf with that gem. Now there's no reason to even go Double Strike for single target, you can simply go ST/AFD/FA/New Gem for some very safe single target.

Or do a crit Ground Slam build xD. ST seems very OP now since it's possible to scale it as much as melee. Also since you can recieve it from Merveil, Scion racing just got a buff no?

So what exactly is the point of the Domination League? Is it just for a brief chance at a new economy and league specific gear? When it ends do the Domination characters go to standard league?

Had my best day of PoE today (I've been playing off and on since the start of open beta). I finally found my first Exalt at level 46 in Cruel Wetlands after leveling over a dozen characters to 40+ (like 7+ to 60 or higher). It took me a couple of seconds to process what had happened when it dropped. Afterward, I just did the 2h solo, playing ST Shadow for the first time, and got 7th overall (2nd class), by far my PB in any sort of race. I made a few stupid errors and had a couple strings of bad RNG, but I had some insane champion RNG, which is how I was competing for 1st in experience for a while, despite being a good 20 minutes behind in progression. I think GGG is somehow saying sorry for not giving me an Exalt drop in nearly a year of playing, and what happened to my level 71 Scion the other day...
I was farming Docks, 1-2 days away from Maps (I was waiting until I had ~3 rows before I started). I was a trapper with almost every gem I needed, capped resists (except Cold, which was at ~55%), great armour, and almost 3k HP with MoM. I had one of those huge lag spikes where every mob stops moving, but your character can move, but won't cast anything (you only see the animation). Everything caught up, and lagged out again. The weird part is I know it wasn't my ISP, because I was watching the Dreamhack finals in the background at Source quality, and it didn't so much as hiccup. I tried to exit to login, but it wouldn't let me for some reason, so I hard closed the client. Logged back in to find myself in scrubcore.

It's probably similar to Melee physical damage, i.e. 30% more projectile damage at lvl 1.
I wonder if it will work on EK/FP, but I don't think so.
EDIT: It's Physical Projectile damage, so EK should work. Damn, another reason why EK is better than FP.
|
Physical projectile attack* damage, so doesn't work on ek. Seems pretty much tailored to spectral throw, I want to replace my faster projectiles with it in my 5l. The extra range is amazing in some situations, but often it's very unneeded.
|
Ah... reading ftw. Yeah, seems to be great for just Spectral Throw and Split Arrow then. Not sure if for Rain of Arrow. And of course for Power Siphon phys builds.

So whats a good fun build for HC/Nemesis for someone whos played a lot of torchlight/d3.
I was messing about with skill tree and ended up with ideas that basically broke themselves or needed to spend 20 levels jus to get a skill. So i guess i am failing ;p
Havent really found any information about what stuff synergises well and is relativley close.
What single hand weapons end up doing most dmg later on?

If you just started playing I really suggest Spectral throw/double strike.Out of all the melee builds it's the least gear dependent(you can basically buy a shiversting and a rigvalds and be set all the way) and safest imo and you can make sure you get enough currency to afford other shit. I wouldn't call spectral throw "fun" tho.
If you are really dead set on going something else I'd suggest something like ground slam, leap slam or infernal blow with a 2 hander and buy a Geofri's Baptism along the way,it's really cheep(like,2 chaos?) and will last you a very long time. Again if you just started playing PoE i'd advise against leap slam out of these because you will mostly likely get greedy, desinc and die.
Right now what I'm doing is I lvld with infernal blow+ a one hander.I got the Supreme truth scepter a while ago so wanted to try it out, bought myself a Brightbeak and it easily did the job untill i could use the scepter. I got also really lucky yesterday and got a Dyadus so I'm set. I would really not recommend doing a 1 hander infernal blow because it will get expensive really quickly and won't do nearly as much damage as spectral throw if you don't have the currency to keep the build rolling.

PPAD is 30% more physical projectile damage and 10% LESS attack speed at level 1, 120% mana multiplier. I leveled mine to 6 and it was 35% more, no change to attack speed. No idea what the quality bonus is. It is good, but also fairly balanced. AFD is better, but obviously you'd want both + Hatred for some sweet scaling.
The only way to get it right now is the Siren's Cadence on Cruel with ~4 classes, or drops, so the only people who'll have it are those who had not taken that reward (like me), or who rushed there with a new character (takes ~4-5 hours?). No way is it worth close to 2 exalts, but selling it for a stupidly high price seems like a good idea.
|
I might invest time into getting some, i'm pretty close on my Nemesis scion to getting it. I have to rush through act 3 normal to get there but my gear makes most the content so far trivial. I don't know if I can get it fast enough to profit though.
I'm starting to be tempted to make a wander on Dom and Nem, mostly because I like to play with all of you and I don't have to try hard as much on Dom. =) Also, all my RL friends usually play Dom but only one of them is active..
|
Yeah 20/20 ppad is 10% increased 49% more projectile phys attack dmg and 10% less attack speed we assume, so it should be legit. Has anybody levelled a barrage to ~15 and tried it?

i bought one for 3c, it more or less draws with a 20/20 faster attack gem at lvl13. will level it further to see how it goes. i might have to get more leech on gear and recolor my sword to run them both, instead of life leech
