Yes; practically every non-ES build utilized this combo in beta.

How did you guys level so fast? I play templar right now and want to be a caster, so grabbing marauder life nodes is not viable.. which means low hp for me.. T_T
Its not as bad as you think, the only real roadblock there is cruel dominus. Once you get into merciless its easy sailing. Merciless vaal being the only minor roadblock, and after doing it about 100 times in onslaught, playing it without mods might be the easiest thing I have ever done.
I'm only lvl 53 myself with 11 hours played.. 2 of those at least are afk idle so meh. Holdya saying you died that many times with those stats on dominus is terrifying... I am on nemesis and almost to him.. 2.7k life w/ max res and pretty good armor. I suppose I could try and run grace along with purity to have insane armor but Id have such huge mana issues.
Have a +1 melee gems viper strike that I plan to abuse the whole way through the fight anyways, if rain is that hard on me ill spam portals likely.

This Fairgraves story is pretty entertaining.

T_T afaik Etup played ~22h before doing his first maps so it's not *that* crazy. The real question is whether LagLovah or me will RIP at Cruel Dominus first. =P

Sooo I've started playing this with the release. Pretty fun so far, really like the depth of gems and the tree but kinda feel the game is a bit laggy or something.
I've started a witch and went fire way, level 16 right now. Have you guys some recommendation as must haves ? I went the left way for now picking firedamage + critchance so I don't think I'm making too much mistakes so far. Main skills are currently clarity, fireball, firestorm. Feel like I should go right to deep wisdom and then right to grab more crit multiplier, fire damage and spell damage in that area. Just wondering if I should take deep wisdom from the top and invest only 3 points or go from the bottom and grab so mana/manaregen along the way.

I put together a Scion build focusing on a two hander/ spectral throw and tankiness. Wondering if its worth it to try and get shock stuff for the 40% damage increase.

Thanks for the donation Mango

LOL that's pretty cool to use that kind of song. I was already wondering where the fuck it was from and assumed some GGG garage band.
Thanks for the donation Mr Sn0_Man!
Guild Balance is currently at 250 points so make sure to yell if any league is running out of tabs.

Getting up to static blows/inner force/Purity of Flesh/double curse is my plan for my marauder thrower. Inner Force with the aura changes should be really strong as long as you're partying. Plenty of strong life nodes along the way to make it worthwhile to head up in that direction.
Shock was also nerfed to 30% more damage per stack.
Spectral Throw gets bonuses from any physical damage as long as it DOES NOT specify melee (assuming you're using the right weapon). It is also a projectile so it benefits from iron grip just like Lightning Strike (point blank is also interesting because it resets the near location when it returns). I'd suggest not committing to axes (unless there is some high level unique axe you've set your build upon) and your tree seems very inefficient. You're playing a Scion, but running out of the area immediately and not really taking advantage of any of the good passives there. If you rolled Duelist instead and didn't go to the Ranger tree you'd have 20 more points to play with. The passives in the Ranger tree are good, but it isn't worth while to take so many +10 stat nodes to get there. A good node that you're wasting ten points to get to is no longer a good node.

You're playing SC, right?
Hell, even then I doubt 42% life with 74pts is nearly enough.
|
Ok well, I'll play it out and see. Thanks for the comment.

I'd do something like this with the same pts: + Show Spoiler +
you can use this site: http://pathofpoe.com/builds/passive-calculator/ to parse out your tree to see your stats

I think I can clear up some of the Spectral Throw confusion. It throws for 60% of your melee damage, and is a projectile. So nodes with +%Melee damage increase it's damage by only 60% of their value while +%projectile damage nodes increase Spectral Throw damage by 100% of their value. Obviously +melee damage nodes still work normally on other melee abilities (you will need a singe target dps ability).

Okay I got a build idea and want to hear your opinion on it, it's not meant to be a top-tier build, just fun!
I wanna do a Wander with Frenzy, Frenzy will be linked to Cast on Crit and Discharge. I will be using Voll's Protector to get Power Charges on my crits.
The plan is to use Frenzy to generate Power Charges and Frenzy Charges, release them with discharge on crit. So basically I just spam Frenzy and through the crits with it, I spam discharge
My build will focus on critchance and spell dmg.
Do you think it is possible or does cast on crit not work that way?
|
That sounds like a pretty idea Vallelol. Since Frenzy is attack it should work. I'm assuming you'd use power siphon too? GL with that; I'd also use cast on damage taken (lvl1) with enduring cry for the endurance charges.

Since Voll's Protector gives me Power Charges on crit, I wouldn't use power siphon

Is there any actual confirmation on this, or is it just pure speculation. What about the 2hand critt nodes in the templar area, do they work? They are specified as melee...
