I really don't know what GGG mean when they say that they "have it under control" Can you link where GGG says this?
why wasn't a single maphacker banned... ever? How do you know this is true?
Is cwu interested in posting the thread on reddit or something similar?

That's the generic response you get when you ask about things such as maphacking, RMTing or Botting. Many racers I talk to get the same generic response when trying to talk to GGG or are simply ignored. I understand that maphacking has a very low priority on GGG's to do list, I just disagree with their approach, that is to tell everyone that everything's fine when it's not.

Dude, you realize that I talk to quite alot of people in the racing community and nobody has ever heard of someone getting banned for maphacking. If these people exist they were surprisingly bad given that they maphacked. Nobody who is doing well in races ever got banned. Nobody.
Granted, it's inductive reasoning, but that's the best we can do.

If he was he would have done it.

I'd assume everyone can. The GM being on the only one able to buy stuff for the guild would be silly.
How much burden is on the GM depends on how the guild is setup. I'd rather see officers in charge of each individual aspect of the game (racing, PvP, guild challenge, mapping, etc). The GM would probably be one of these officers who is in charge of the guild because one of them has to hold the title. Alternately the GM could be the higher power who manages all the officers, but I doubt we'd be big enough to need that.

@Slix
Well that's certainly unusual. GGG is usually extremely transparent in all of the things they do. When they first released microtransactions, they changed the whole system promptly after a wave of complaints. Discussing why they make changes to skills / passives, etc. The reason why myself (and others perhaps) are skeptical is because if they are really acting like that, it is quite contrary to their usual behavior. If the evidence is conclusive enough it is strange that GGG would not do anything.

Honestly, I just think GGG doesn't really care about the racing community at all. They never talk to any of the racers or respond to any of the (really good) feedback in the race feedback section of the forum.
There are dozens of threads complaining about the dominance of cleave in races and never once has GGG ever even acknowledged the problem. They just don't seem to care, which is exactly why the racing community is so extremely frustrated with GGG, they are great in communicating with their casual community, but I guess the racing community just isn't big enough for them to listen to our feedback. Which is fine, really I can understand that they have to cater to the most casual playerbase first, but I just wish they would at least be a little more honest about it.
Ironically, PoE has the highest viewer numbers on twitch when people are racing, which equals more publicity for the game, but at the same time GGG absolutely never listens to our feedback.
I think yesterday, Willy had 500 viewers on his stream when we did the party race, normally he has somewhere around 150-200 viewers. Racing has so much potential and many people really enjoy watching people stream races and yet GGG shows no support for racing at all.

A single officer could be in charge of multiple things as well. It's more work on their part, but not impossible. You can be in charge of PvP AND newbie help.

The accusers can always take it to reddit I suppose where it would get a lot of attention. I talked to cwu right after he made that post and his intention was not to cause drama or name shame people. I don't know if you know Mors (I don't, but this is what I was told) but he has been collecting evidence of Alkaizer's maphacking for over a year now and GGG simply doesn't pay attention to him, no matter where and when he brings it up. This is the community's way of saying "look GGG there is a problem, there are some people who seem to be maphacking, in some cases it's even obvious, now you always tell us you got it under control, but no cheater was ever banned, so what's going on?". I mean, I think we can all agree that there are maphackers out there, hell most top racers I've talked to think Choi, BZ and Alkaizer maphack. But, maybe some of you can understand the frustration, whenever this is brought up GGG simply says "it's all good we got it under control." but then one has to wonder, how come nobody has ever been banned? Are we to assume that there isn't even a single racer who uses this freely available maphack that is seemingly undetectable? I really don't know what GGG mean when they say that they "have it under control", because absolutely nothing is happening and nothing has happened for more than a year. If they can't prove that they are hacking why not just tell Mors in private that they can't prove it at this point in time, why come out and say "it's all under control" and effectively lie to people for such a long period of time. It is frustrating because people want fair competition, it isn't fun when someone like Choi effectively destroys the competition and I am almost 100% certain that he maphacks. I don't know him but from the evidence that was posted in cwu's thread and what I've hear about him it seemed very conclusive. Show nested quote +On October 14 2013 05:28 Blitzkrieg0 wrote: I'm not telling you to sit around and do nothing. Whatever this guy posted on the forums could have been sent directly to GGG through PM or support and it was closed because there was no reason for it to be posted on the official forums. The medium of your arguments is wrong and you take that as GGG ignoring you instead of going through the proper channels.
Did you like.. not read any of my previous posts? Like I said people tried to bring this to GGG's attention in the past and they were routinely ignored. You seem to have this impression of GGG that they are oh so caring about the issues of the community, let me assure you that's not the case. I understand they are an indie company, but if they don't have time for this, let the community sort it out, don't shut down every thread about it, all the while ignoring all the PMs people send you in private about this very issue.
The reason why GGG ignores the hacking issue is because it blows a gigantic hole in their desync argument. The reason why desync exists is because GGG utilizes a system that is suppose to deny information to the client in order to prevent maphacking (similar to how DotA 2 and League of Legends prevent most maphacks from occurring because it does not send the information to the client until it checks that the client can actually see it). That and combined with the fact that GGG does not force any side to wait for information to be sent results in massive desyncs, especially with high speed movement skills like Flicker/Whirlingblades/Cyclone/etc.
By proving that maphacking is rampant (and it's rampant in races along with RMT), it just demonstrates that GGG's game is no better than D2 or D3 in terms of protection. Fact of the matter is people have been utilizing outside third party sources for unfair advantages forever now. This isn't something new. GGG just likes to stick its head in the sand and pretend none of it is an issue even though a vast majority of top players use hacks or RMT.

I could help out with the new 4 month SC league/racing/low level pvp for the TL guild.

What kind of actual proof could you get that they cheated during a race?
The only individual that I could think of would be on the GGG end.

If anyone wants to do 66/67 maps on SC, add me: echelontee
Leveling up my facebreaker

Pick meeeee
I have a pretty scrubtastic Templar at 68.

Wow. I wish that was a race. I was leveling a templar for level 28 pvp and I got a sub 30 minute merveil kill and then a 1 hour 20-25 minute vaal kill. I dropped 2 iron rings and a quicksilver before mud flats. leather belt right before Brutus. karui ward off of brutus, two sapphires in cavern. Like.. wtf, i'm never even gonna be half as lucky as that ever again.

I can't believe I waste so much time picking up and keeping all this trash ^_^ Log in and I have all these remove only tabs full of random items that I'll never do anything with and have no idea why I would put them in my stash in the first place. Please don't let me hoard when I start playing again.

I dont have much LLPvP gear at the moment.

On softcore or hardcore? I'm not sure I want to go through and itemlevel everything cause it is very time consuming ^_^
