This was my first character so after dying to often in Act 2 Cruel I decided to stop and make a new shadow and ranger which are both at around the same level (42-45) but seem to be doing a lot better. I still want to do most of the research myself but a little advice would be appreciated. | ||

Build: Elemental Bloodmagic Ranger (Frenzy/Lightning arrow) Softcore Just started to use Blood Magic, because i finally got a 3Green1Red chest for Lightning Arrow. LA is fun ^^. Guys im level 50, my Normal attack DPS is 500, Frenzy 800, LA 380+....is that good or bad? | ||

Before, you used to be able to get away with stacking ES because you could get MUCH more ES than hp. Now you can still get more ES, but it's far more in line with max hp people get on tanky chars. ES is basically all round inferior to hp for survivability due to the mechanics of stun and elemental ailments. The end result is that to be survivable as witch is to not get hit much, thus use minions (and maybe totem) to tank for you while you cast your spells. I'm using a cold witch with a similar build to yours, and refusing to use minions because I find them dull. But I fully expect that I would be completely unable to level by halfway through merciless due to dying so often (well i guess i could find a party to tank for me), at which stage I will have to use minions out of necessity too. | ||

I'm looking for a tank that is equally as potent in his damage, one you have to use some tactics with but it rewards you with a lot of versatility. Some examples of this are EQ Warrior, and SWTOR Juggernaut with Rage spec, but those aren't the same type of game I know. Otherwise, I'd suggest an Ethereal Knife build, with any class really. They seem overpowered at the moment, and the only real risk is killing yourself on reflect damage. Bows are also very easy to build for and play, and are not that reliant on gear. haven't tried Spark yet, but have Ice Spear linked with Totem + GMP + Elemental Proliferation + Faster Casting it's a god damn frame rate killer | ||
