Not exactly convinced watching the stream, but it looks like a straight up D2 clone with better graphics and an advanced skilltree (just from watching the stream, I have not read the forums or followed the scene).
I think allowing streaming during the beta is a wise options for this game, because after D3 beta comes out attention is going to be hard to come by.

No, not really. Me and couple of friends totally lost interest of Diablo upon hearing "there will be no ladder, no competition. Only skirmish arena deathmatches with invisible matchmaking".
We jumped on PoE because of the PvP modes/leagues so at least from our point of view I can't say Diablo 3 is interesting unless the ladder is brought back.

Any detailed impressions of the game yet? (I'm guessing not many since people are busy playing) Especially curious about thoughts about the classes/party system.

I got my beta key yesterday, been playing it. I've got nothing to add to those who wrote about the beta. However, that new impressive UI is not in the game yet.
If you want to get some keys, stalk the general discussion on the official forums and /v/. I've found my key from /v/ but according to others the developers are constantly hiding/giving away keys on the forums.

OMG Guys i finally got in!!! FUCK YES! after staying up almost 30 hrs yesterday trying to get a key, i was just about to fall asleep watching GSL, thought id check my inbox before falling asleep, and BAM! it was there! so fucking happy. Hope more of you guys can get in, Good luck to you all, now imma take a nap while this doanloads!

Any beta from Blizzard means an endless wave of hype, (p)reviews, streams and plenty of (soon to be banned) kids begging for keys, that's just how it is.
