Chelsea don't have any backups at that position (unless you consider bringing Bosingwa to CB, but I can only imagine Gomez running rampant in that situation). Plus, they've lost two of their main midfielders meaning that Lampard, Mikel, and a 3rd player (Essien? Romeu?) Both teams will be struggling at those positions, but we'll be asking those questions in a few weeks. I really do think people overrate Gomez alot. He doesn't run rampant ever, he mostly accidentally and exclusively scores goals from parried Robbery shots (exaggeration people). But otherwise good points and agreed.

No way our midfield is going to be v strong, only weakness is defence (big weakness) Meireles is really quite shite, lampard >>>>>> meireles, essien >>>>>>> meireles, romeu = meireles. Ramires is a big loss but can be replaced by Sturridge, it does suck because he would have been amazing locking down robben or ribery. That would be SO fucking unfair, some of the yellows were just plain ridiculous.

Bayern Munich Reserves vs Chelsea Reserves....Thank you UEFA >.< Like everyone has said, as of next season UEFA need to come out and abolish the yellow card rule for the semi final 2nd legs, i mean i can understand it if you picked up your 3rd boooking in the semi final first leg and missed the 2nd leg that imo is fine. But for players to miss finals because of silly yellow cards mounting up is a joke! It ruins the game, ruins the spectacle its just plain silly. All be it there isnt that many attacking players who are missing the game for both teams as its mainly defenders who have picked up the cards minus Ramires and Raul but it still is silly and reduces the game to what could of been saying comes into play with the game, if we had JT then we would not of conceded that goal, if bayern had badstuber they would of not conceded there etcetc. Chelsea have yet to comment on the Cahill and Luiz injuries but i have faith they will be back in time for the final, as both would not want to miss it anyway and they will be playing through injections if worst comes to worst due to the fact the only 2 CBs available for the game are Cahill and Luiz for us. I am going to try my hardest to get tickets to the final as i want to whitness history in Munich and i want to see that stadium, it looks great! EDIT: I think it will effect the suspended players on yellow cards as well. I mean there technically "suspended" just like JT is, such pitty rules from UEFA.

Van Buyten has a broken foot (Feb) and even if he does come back, there's no way he can deal with a fully fit Drogba. Tymoschuk for Badstuber, Rafinha / Contento for Alaba and Pjanic for Gustavo. Oh man. I really don't want John Terry to win anything. e: He does get to lift the trophy even if he is suspended right? oh god, hopefully not pranjic for gustavo, that would be a total desaster, i think kroos substitutes gustavo and müller will play on kroos' position.

Bayern only have 1. Tymoschuk can only be considered because he's played there in the past. And then taken Tymoschuk out of the equation, Bayern only have 2 fit central midfielders in Sweinsteiger and Kroos, but they're way too similar to play next to each other. So you include Pranjic just because he's played there as well. I wonder how Altintop feels leaving Bayern. He would start the final in this situation, but instead, he wasn't even on the bench for the semis.

Bayern has no other central defenders left apart from vanBuyten, who will miss this game definitely. Tymoshuck will be the last option left and it's an terrible option because he is not a central defender at all but a defensive midfielder. Now imagine a inexperienced central defender against the likes of Drogba or Torres,...good luck. Bayern will have to bring in Contento or Rafinha for Alaba, both are pretty mediocre, I'm not sure they are good enough for a CL final. Furthermore the defensive midfielder position will be vacant when Tymoshuck goes for central defender (Gustavo is booked for the final). Pranjic cannot be an option, he is a terrible player, so most likely it will be Schweinsteiger and Kroos as defensive midfielders and Müller als offensive midfielder - which would be a very, very offensive lineup.

Clearly this is going to be an amazing game for these reasons. Scary for Chelsea and Bayern fans...without proper defences. But amazing for everyone else. I predict 4-5 goals in the game.

@Nepeta, i guess you don't understand football much huh? Or seen all the games leading up to the Final? Some of the Referee's Chelsea have had going into the final have been shocking, but i do admit the closer we got to the final the better the Referee's were. Now also to take into consideration that you want "longer bans" for players picking up 3 yellow cards in the knockout stages deserve to be banned. Do you realise how many games that was? Last 16, 2 games Round of 8, 2games Semi final, 2games 6 games to pick up 3 yellow cards is not much? When you consider thats one yellow over both each round. Ivanovic for example picked up a yellow vs Napoli, a yellow vs Benfica and a yellow vs Barcelona in the 2nd leg and now he misses the final, i think its stupid how it should still be counted in semi final second legs. Like i said if that was the semi final first legs i would not have a problem but it isn't its to miss out of a game that does not come round often a champions league final, the best game you can be involved with a club level in Europe and you cant play because you got 3 yellow cards in 6 games pre the final. I think they just need to stop the yellow card ban for the final.
