Sorry reposting here...too much effort for it to be lost in the last post of the page -.-
UGGGGHHHHHH
This whole experience has been unbearable hahaha. I got temp banned the night before chelsea BEAT BARCELONA holy fucking shittttt. THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE AND ONE OF THE GREATEST CHELSEA GAMES OF ALL TIME. TORRES!!!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!!!
Ok. Now I've got that out of my system, I just want to say a quick sorry to Rebs. I figured you for a one-dimensional barca fanboy but you have proven yourself to be neither a) one-dimensional nor b) a fanboy. So I owe you an apology because it seems like you accepted Chelsea's victory even though you disliked the way they played with good grace, and then made a few fair comments about defence and people jumped all over you.
I just want to say two things about the Chelsea performance. Firstly, for those who just say we turtle - that's really not what Chelsea have been doing this season. We beat Tottenham 5-1, we lost to Arsenal 5-3, we drew with Man U 3-3, we beat Man City 1-0 and lost 2-1 and don't forget we gutted out a 4-1 win against Napoli. We have not been playing with a turtle mentality. Maybe it's cos of AVB but more likely it's because we have had some personnel changes but we are no way playing as defensive minded as when we won the league with mourine. We had to turtle against Barcelona because they are a better team than us. Their team would cost more money in transfers. They are literally better. It was definitely anti-football. It was actually one of the finer displays of anti-football I've ever seen from an England team in Europe. I watched the match again and I was amazed by HOW MANY times we could have been cut open, and Ramires, Cole, Ivanovic, Terry would make game saving tackles and challenges. If you just watch the Chelsea team, they are putting SO MUCH MORE effort into the game than you might think. Being that defensive is a Herculean effort. It's pretty ridiculous but...I would say that if you take the style of play cruyff invented and used with holland 'total football'...we played 'total anti-football'. That is...every single player putting in a defensive shift.
However good Barcelona are, you can't say they could do that. They have to attack, they can't sit with 10 men behind the ball. They are like Man Utd, they play at the front and defend in the middle. (By the way I think their defenders are good so I don't know what the hell ppl are talking about, they are custom selected for Barca. And apparently Barca want David Luiz, which I think is a fantastic idea. He doesn't fit in our team, we need a new Terry, Cahill is a good start.) Every single player in the Chelsea team defended with immaculate technique, vision and intensity. Players like Mikel Meireles Ramires (what a game from him) Drogba (another amazing game), they all played defence better than most defenders in other teams. Mata ran 7 miles in the first 60 minutes. That's more than most people run in an entire game. Another thing you can say is that Barca were completely impotent when crossing from distance. So we pulled in and protected the box. What's wrong with that?? Barcelona have completely skewed the balance of their team because it works for them...they have 1 strong player, and 5-6 midgits with no physical presence at all. They are completely useless at corners, I was HAPPY every time we conceded a corner. You just can't blame Chelsea for playing a completely crazy ultra turtle style when Barca come at you with such a one dimensional attack: no long balls, no effective crosses, no threatening corners. The only thing they do and did was through balls. It worked twice, although could have worked a bunch more I'll give you that. OF COURSE, Barcelona were extremely unlucky. But fuck it...if I took any team in the premiership...fuck that...in the world...and put them in the situation we were in, losing 2-1 on aggregate, with 10 men and NO CENTRE BACKS, against Barcelona IN THE CAMP NOU...I think ANY team in the world would lose 9 times out of 10. Including Chelsea. We had a huge slice of luck there is absolutely no doubt, but COME ON people...the spirit of the team was out of this world. And for sourpuss English supporters of other teams, well, I'm ashamed of you if you can't give it to Chelsea for that one. I happily congratulated my Liverpool supporter friends when they beat AC Milan. Congratulated my Man U friends when they won the treble. Congratulated my Arsenal friends when the invincibles went unbeaten. I love great moments of guts and determination.
As for the game today, well, I loved the game and they played great. Mark my words, if either team comes out like that against Chelsea, my team will play exactly the same. Chelsea likes the pace of a game, we will probably play Sturridge due to Ramires missing, and Essien, we will have a pretty good team except for the defence. But so will Bayern. Bayern have formidable wingers and Ribery will probably enjoy success against Bosingwa but I'm pretty confident Cole will be a match for Robben, ex chelsea player. Sure Lahm is great but Cole is every inch as good as him. He is a monster of cardio, he is EVERYWHERE, and he defends with amazing balance and poise with the perfect amount of aggression. Not to mention he sets up a lot of goals. Gomez is simply inferior to Drogba. It's not going to be an easy match for Bayern. I saw how they lost to BVB, we can do that. Our name is all over that style. We can float in crosses all day long. We have a chance. The spirit of Chelsea is one borne out of rage and defiance...the older guys have rage that they were dropped by AVB, and the whole team has annoyance at what happened in 09 and of course 08 and and we want to set the record straight. We need the Champions League. We may have had a shitty season but I personally blame the majority of it on AVB and the high defensive line embarrassment. Another example of a stupid fad taking over, when in reality we should have stuck to the tried and test cover/ deep line that Terry commands so well. It will be a good game...is what I'm saying
I'm not going to say much about Terry's dismissal btw. I would have given a red. Stupid move. But I watched it multiple times from further back than they show in clips and yes, Sanchez definitely was backing into Terry, who hates shit like that, so he wanted to put a stop to it quickly. I genuinely don't think he meant to do such a UFC-esque ninja move. It was properly the tension of the moment. Anyway he will pay his price.
All in all, I am completely over the moon about yesterday's results...and I must say I thought it would be cruel if Bayern didn't get the final in their stadium,,,after being so close. Also, people who were doubting Neuer what the fuck were you on. Along with Lloris Cech and Casillas you simply can't say anything bad about them. It's like you never saw him singlehandedly prevent like 10 shots when Shalke played Man U. Alex F himself said Neuer was a complete boss. This is the guy who coached VDS and Schmeichel.
Just want to say commiserations to Barca fans and Real fans. I may not like the way Barca play but they are still a godly team with godly players and they do credit to football. Same goes for Real. And congrats to Bayern for a job very well done. And congrats to US for possibly the greatest victory ever earned by Chelsea .
Also one final thing, Branislav Ivanovic is actually an amazing asset I think he is the most underrated player in our team.

Just heard on german TV:
Jose Mourinho went into the Bayern lockerroom and congratulated every single Bayern Player for making it into the Final.
What a great guy!

thats pretty sweet was a good game, its a shame the final is going to be two teams who can't put out a 1st team between them as most of the players can't play due to bookings :\

What a great guy! Thats really awesome. It sucks to lose on penalties, but Bayern definitely deserved it over the two legs.

chances are defensive players will pick up 2 yellows from 6 games *round of 16 to semis* because of how good all the teams are at attacking. its a bit sad but nevermind!

Except Robben didnt take a pen in the shootout... thats why it was 3 out of 4 O by "WE" you meant like you and some people.. my bad, I misunderstood. I was surprised Kaka missed, I expected him to curl it to the right and make it pretty comfortably..
I can't understand how people still think Kaka is any good. He has been utter crap since he arrived at Madrid.
Ozil is sooooo much better, it's not even close.

What does that have to do with taking penalties ? Ozil is better, but again as far as finishing ability is concerned Kaka has had it pretty well the second half of the season.

Hopefully arsenal finishes 3rd this year. So if chelsea does win arsenal is still in the UCL.

I heard ronaldo had scored 25 consecutive penalties before the miss, pretty bad spot to ruin the streak
Wanted real to win, but atleast I find comfort that no spanish team made it so people might stop/halt the complete dominance of spanish team talk thats been going on.
Now I just hope for another torres goal and chelsea victory

Ze Germans never lose penalties. So I guess this result isn't a surprise. haha.

Bayern's defence and central midfield for the final is gonna be really bad. Van Buyten has a broken foot (Feb) and even if he does come back, there's no way he can deal with a fully fit Drogba. Tymoschuk for Badstuber, Rafinha / Contento for Alaba and Pjanic for Gustavo. Oh man. I really don't want John Terry to win anything.
e: He does get to lift the trophy even if he is suspended right?

You may be surprised Surrealistic. Good systems > good individuals, and I believe that if the Bayern is prepared they can win this solidly, despite not being fully equipped.

I cant think of a system where Drogba doesnt bully the shit out of a defense wether its Tymoshuk or Badstuber tbh, Badstuber is better on the ball than he is a defender (one of those David Luiz, Pique types) as far as Ive seen.
I dont think they will miss him immensely. The larger issue that they'll have someone playing out of position with no Van Buyten, who frankly was getting owned by Milito in the air 2 years back, the likes of Drogba is a whole new animal.
And Alaba is a huugggeee miss. Gustvo I never liked so I dont think his absence that will hurt either, he was pretty clumsy all day and asking for a card even if Madrid at times were gratuitous with their falling over when touched. Overall Munich isnt in as bad shape as Chelsea at all.

e: He does get to lift the trophy even if he is suspended right? Same issues are going to afflict Chelsea. They'll have to play with Luiz and Cahill at center-back (both of whom are slightly injured at the moment). Chelsea don't have any backups at that position (unless you consider bringing Bosingwa to CB, but I can only imagine Gomez running rampant in that situation). Plus, they've lost two of their main midfielders meaning that Lampard, Mikel, and a 3rd player (Essien? Romeu?) Both teams will be struggling at those positions, but we'll be asking those questions in a few weeks.
