Yea and Ronaldo has been playing, with a bunch of chumps the last 6 years right. O, wait just the team that dominated England post Mou and a Real team so loaded just looking at the reserve teams makes people cream their pants. This team argument is bs

Doesn't matter if you put all the best players on the same team, doesn't mean they'll create beautiful football. Look at Manchester City. It takes time, and a good coach to create the synergy that teams like Barca have.
It's not about them playing together for a while, it's about the entire club's playing style. Barça plays the same style in the entire club and trains every youth player individually so they can fit effortlessly into the first team if called upon. Look at how well Tello is doing so far for example.
Every team that just buys its players is not going to have the same type of synergy that a team like Barça has. Not in 1 year, not in 5, not unless the whole club follows a certain type of playing style. Man City just buys a shitload of players and a coach has to try to find a system in which they work. There is no long-term vision or anything and that's why a team that has all the money in the world has failed to dominate thus far.

Yet Barca and Real have been throwing money at players for years? Barca have a great academy which produces world class talent, but they dont always use them. Just take Romeu (Chelsea player now looks fantastic) and Fabregas, sold him for 5million or something? Then had to buy him back for 20+ They bought Sanchez, Villa amongst the players i can remember them buying. Dont say they just use academy players and are world class because of it, because they are not.
Oh and another Pique, let him go in youth team to Man Utd, he was playing for man utd as a squad player and now is (well last season was) there best CB behind Puyol who is old now.

CR7 is a beast, anyone who knows football can see that, he's an ultimate athlete and has proven himself in EPL and laliga, his stats speak for themselves, but I guess if you're one of those youtube Messi is god omgzz!!11!!! kind of dudes
Ofc he is a beast. One would be crazy or ignorant to claim otherwise. But that just shows what a marvel Messi is. Also he has 3 Ballons against 1 for Cr7.
If you take that silly award seriously you're a fool.
Because top coaches, captains and media representatives are ignorant in football.

Hate to break it to you but MLS is just division 2 sides fighting it out with the occasional almost awesome player. The defence, control and passing of most of the teams is so shocking I can't really watch MLS games, many of the players look like they have only just been introduced to football.

Invalid vote? Are you assuming these were just not allowed by the evil overlord of FIFA, or do you actually have some evidence that these weren't the Netherlands just fucking up their vote?
We all know they're top votes for that year were sniejder. Yet their top votes were invalid and that's the same year fifa changed the format of the ballon d'or and added the opportunity for players and coaches to put their vote in. Also, i dont care about ronaldo. I just felt Sniejder deserved atleast a top 3 spot with xavi and iniesta that year.
While I agree with Sneijder being the player who deserved the ballon d'or most in 2010 (CL with Inter, WC finals with the Netherlands) or maybe Iniesta (deciding goal @WC finals) their votes were invalid cause they voted for their own coutrymen (Sneijder/Robben) which - as far as I know - isn't allowed (at least for players/coaches, for journalists it doesn't seem to matter)
Well with the addition of the players/coaches messi destroyed the race. If you only count the media it would of been a close race between sniejder and iniesta with xavi and messi behind them. I just felt it was dirty move by blatter and just to make messi their cash cow. I'm not saying he doesnt deserved his other awards because he certainly does. For that year, sniejder and iniesta should of been the top 2.

The problem with city is that you have too many personalities on the same team causing alot of chaos in the locker room.

I think what Twisted wanted to say is that in Barcelona, Players addapt to Barça game style (witch is the same in the Younth Academy). Barcelona never addapts the play style to the players. You can see it easily in players like Villa that had to change completely his play from Valencia to Barcelona. And that is the reason why Ibraimovich didnt work, He didnt fit in that style and he wasnt going to change it.

I think it's impossible to sign the talents before they're 18 so the clubs in England buy them away before that age. I'm not sure about that though.

I literally cannot see a more unbiased system, than getting the captains and coaches from all over the world to cast their votes, yeah they may be biased towards their own countrymen or teammates but it would only make-up a negligible amount looking at the overall picture.
If it was just the media I can already see people saying its a circus, popularity contest, the media are messi-lovers etc. You know then nobody would take that seriously. -_-

If you actually count the media votes on that page you'll see that not many voted for messi that year. The race was mostly between sniejder and iniesta. Nowadays your assumption is right, but im only talking about that year.

You totally missed the point. Of course they buy players because they can. They buy players when they add something to the team and when they think they can play well in the current system. Lots of youth players are in the first squad.. you don't see that with the majority of the teams from the premier league.

that depends on whether you're trying to determine which player contributed the most to significant victories, or which player was actually best.
