Yeah well, United have been so shit recently. I can't believe they have actually managed to maintain their place in the league. No nani or valencia right now, no surprises they are being challenged by bilbao who work really hard. I can't believe they beat tottenham. If this match goes any way like the rest of the utd games, bilbao will get another goal, 2-1, then man utd will get 2 goals in the last 2 minutes lol.
PS can't believe people are even considering that the CL is more vaunted a competition than the mighty WC. OBVIOUSLY, literally OBVIOUSLY it's the WC. It makes national heroes. It's the biggest world sporting event aside from the olympics.

Is surprising, how unused is MU to play aganist such pressure. Bielsa Atheltic is so offensive, i love it ^^

United learning about the Basque Heart. I love those away shirts of Bilbao.

I love how some people simply refuse to admit that teams in Spain not called Barcelona or Real Madrid can play better football than a stoke city. Apparantly theres a wealth of talent all the way down to Wigan and spanish teams suck. I doubt any of them even watch anything outside the EPl and the odd classico or italian derby.

No one knows if Pele would ring circles around players of this day because its impossible to tell. I for one think if the 1st Division English teams from the 70s/80s player that of todays Premiership teams i would say Nottingham Forest Liverpool Everton Man Utd would be running circles round the Man Utd Chelsea Man City Arsenal of today due to muscles alone! But technically i think Pele and Maradonna are far far greater in there careers IN TOTAL than Messi right now, not to say Messi might not out do them, but Argentina have been woeful in world cups all through out the 00s and 2010s so far. I don't think he is anywhere near Pele's level internationally etiher on paper you have to agree with that, 4 world cups attended 3 tropheys bought home, Maradonna 1 world cup in the 3 he turned up too and he had awful players around him. I think Messi's underachievement at international level compared with Pele's is more to do with the fact that international football isn't taken as seriously anymore, it is often at the end of a long ass season where players are tired as fuck whereas back in the day they didn't play 60+ games in a year, Mouriniho said himself that the WC is second to the champions league. Messi performs at the highest level there is now, that is champions league football. International football is taken very seriously, especially in Argentina o_O And a club like Leverkusen is certainly not at the level of the top national football teams... In europe the interest in international football is waning, you ask any fan on the terraces if they would want to win the league or champions or for their country to win the world cup and most will say the former You sure about that? Personally i can't name a single person who prefers a CL win over the world cup
come to england and sit on the terraces mate, everyone here will tell you international football is dead, people are fed up with 6 million being paid to the manager to only fail every 2 years and and how all the players get injured etc playing needless friendlies

I don't even like Lazio I've been working so hard since last thursday I haven't had time to be sad about it yet.

a lot of the top european managers and players have said that the champions league is the best competition in the world and the WC means less nowadays, I never said other nations hate it, so calm down, my point was that international football has dwindled in prestige with the rise of the champions league and the relentless nature of domestic fixtures

wow english football downfall? Manchester united taken down home, by primera divisions 5th team Athelic Bilbao. There is so much to discuss about the 2 leagues side by side. what a win for football overall <3. holy crap hahah it's manchester united on home soil! European football metagame change after 12 years? bilbao might as well be able to compete in champions league with that spanish finnesse attacking forward football?!. LOVELY
A dominating spanish night in Europa League overall Atletico Madrid 3 - 1 Besiktas Manchester U. 2 - 3 Athletic Bilbao Valencia 4 - 2 PSV Eindhoven

Spanish teams are not that bad, maybe overall the league is not as good as premiere. But Valencia, bilbao, sevilla, villareal, athetico, espanyol, etc this last years are teams that could compete in the premiere.
Its only that madrid and barcelona make them look worst, but i think spanish league is the best after premiere.

sorry but germany is CLEARY in front of Italy. Just look at the official uefa ranking:
1. England 82.535 2. Spain 76.757 3. Germany 71.852 4. Italy 59.124
Germany is 5 points behind Spain, but 12 points in front of Italy
