They don't have that much advantage because there were some arcades in america that had it. It was just "less" popular in north america because there was no major tournaments for it.
Not to mention that SSF4 experience also carries over to an extent

it's a big difference when you have 3 machines for your region vs 8 machines in one arcade in a city with 200 arcades.
Japan had their own 4 kings of Arcades, kinda like Bonjwa of Street Fighter. Daigo, however, I think is pretty much all the BW bonjwas combined, he's the undisputed king of Street Fighter, from the past to the current.
Not to mention a lot of players switched over to Marvel vs Capcom 3 for awhile when that dropped. I'm not trying to make excuses for the American players but they just don't have the time put in like the Japanese do.
Well Daigo is the king of SF but not fighting games, in Japan. Tokido is known for being godlike at every game, and there are people who have their titles. Mago is still the "2D God" and there are plenty of old 3rd strike and HDR lifers.
Does any known retail shop actually sell SSF4:AE as actual dvd? (I much prefer to get this than from xboxlive). I cant find this game anywhere. GAME and Gamestation dont stock them. :/

As others already stated, Daigo Umehara. He's the reigning Evo champion, having won the last two championships in SF4 and SSF4 (and countless other tournaments). Also his AE Yun is looking goddamn unbeatable, so it's quite likely he'll win this year as well. I think only a really good Zangief can stop him at this point, so unless he meets Vangief or Itabashi Zangief (if he's attending) I don't see him having much trouble keeping the crown.
Hey don't be counting out AquaSilk that guys got a sick Zangief as well. Also T-Hawk is a good matchup against Yun but the only person I can think of that plays T-Hawk is Min and he only semi plays T-Hawk
Personally I want another GamerBee to just appear out of the woodwork and BODY everyone at Evo. Get R'kelly all up in there, going to look like we had a golden shower marathon.
I love AquaSilk but he just plays really gimmicky and really unsafe. He tends to get away with a lot of "online" tactics like whiff s.hk SPD and whiff green hand Ultra 1. Now he's on this Ultra 2 kick where he will try desperately to land that Ultra 2 no matter what. He is nowhere near the level of Vangief or Itazan.
Don't hate the online tactics, bro
Even Poongko will shoryuken spam like no other, and he wins shit
I've seen enough of Aquasilk's and Poongko's games to determine that Aquasilk is maybe 10% as good as Poongko. There's a difference between taking calculated risks and hoping and praying out of desperation that the other guy will fall for something =) Aquasilk has also fallen in skill a lot (or at least not kept parity with the other top East Coast players) since vanilla SF4 =/
I played Aquasilk online a couple times in SSF4 (and lost, but it wasn't so bad). Obviously online means next to nothing, but he sure did use a lot of online tactics and really unsafe stuff nonstop lol. I guess I fell for a lot of them, so I'm not going to hate on something that was working. Vangief and other top Zangiefs definitely have a much more fundamental approach that will go further.
Chris Hu + Aquasilk commentary is top tier though, there's no denying that.

Thanks
It's 2011, just google search it and order it online you will probably get it cheaper that way anyway. Mine arrived in the post yesterday, got it from here. Also note that the actual release date for the non-digital version in the UK is the 15th I believe so it's not even out (technically I shouldn't have recieved mine yet idk)
What is the best way to stand up from the ground when somebody knocked you down? I feel like I am getting hit way too often when I get up. Is there some kind of trick to it? :o

101toss I just played a Yun with my Gief and used ultra2 on his wakeup and caught his backdash, and after the match he sent me this:
I bet he was saying WTFWTFWTF the whole time. Aquasilk would be proud.
Lol so gosu, that's aquasilk alright

The game first didn't recognize the stick so you have to use the little swith at the top to set is as either left or right analog stick, then it worked instantly
don't have any noticable delay either as far as i can tell.. but i think it takes some time getting used to playing with a stick :o tis weird!
