Skyrim is a very different experience. Obsidian RPGs tend to not really fit the "open-world" mold in exchange for having better story and characters (a lot of the designers are ex-Black Isle guys who worked on stuff like Planescape Torment). | ||

Luckily, the expansion (which you can regard as a stand-alone realy) Mask of the Betrayer is up there with the likes of Torment, BG2 and Fallout 3. Its like the spiritual successor of Torment. Great writing, epic battle, awesome cast of character especially the companions such as spirit bear, a hagspawn and a conglomeration of evil spirits. | ||
