Imo Ori is kinda overhyped only by a little bit, but not really overrated. Not a lot of really good metroidvania games come out recently, and ori top it off with amazing graphic and music, like one complete package. To be fair i dont play many metroidvania games besides metroid and castlevania series themselves, and valdis story, but ori game mechanics are quite interesting.
Back to the topic of sale, and good short games to get? I kind of quit dota recently, play some stardew. Looking for some games that can be play in short burst, like 10-15mins each session. Or some fun coop 4 pack

Definitive Edition seems to be -75% for me at least.
Not sure if it has to do with owning the original version.

Miss the hype of the old daily or hourly sales. Now I just look at it and think meh I still have 10 games to play.

DOOM for -40% is a great deal. South Park Stick of Truth for -75%, The Witcher 3 is -50% (Base game + Expansions that are incredible is -33% off.)
This War of Mine is excellent for under 5 euros. If you want something relaxing, with great sound tracks and beautiful story , check out To The Moon (Adventure RPG) for ~2 euros. If you have a controller, Brothers: The Tale of Two Sons is a must have for under two euros.
Lots more obviously.

Honestly the hype died some time ago when you realized you have 500 games and you already own most of the must have.
of course if you have like 2 games, you would be drooling

Pretty much, i literally just spent 2 hours looking for something to buy, and nothing piqued my interest. It's a sad day when i can't find a game to buy, and finally have a few bucks to spend on them.

woww I really really wanted to play doom but just refused to pay high prices for a game that i'm going to beat in 2 sittings and stop playing multiplayer after a week... but with that sale .. just might.. have too. I love Quake4 and Doom3 singleplayer. Haven't really played a single player shooter since!

For some perspective, ive spent about 30 hours on the Single Player alone, i beat the game on 3 different difficulties back to back, because the game is so damn fun, I also got all the collectibles and found all the secrets, which i never do in any game. So i think you will get your moneys worth, even if you don't touch the Multiplayer at all.

Shadowrun looks tempting. The highest rated one (Dragonfall?) is less than $3 right now after an 80% discount. Wasteland 2 and Tales of Zestiria look tempting as well. Was hearing that Zestiria isn't as good as the rest of the series but the huge discount is tempting.

Shadowrun is really good but short. Count something like 10 to 15H if you are a slow reader. Wasteland2 is basicly a not so simplified but simplified Fallout (1 or 2). It's a really good game. Much longer. Count 50 to 70h for a first run.

I liked ori and the blind forest. Good music, good platforming mechanics, good art. Only thing that was meh was the storyline.
