I want to get Banished as well, but heard it's not very replayable once you figure it out, which takes a couple of hours. Is that true, and is it worth getting? I'm only really looking for a game I can play through quite a bit in the upcoming week. ![]()

I liked Dishonored a lot and am not a loyal thief fan, so I won't be ''disappointed'' as I've heard many say. I just want to know if it's a good game and if it's like Dishonored. I could play games like that for hours on end. I want to get Banished as well, but heard it's not very replayable once you figure it out, which takes a couple of hours. Banished looks like it could possibly be cheaper in the future to maybe 75% off. I would hold off unless you're not getting Thief and have no games to play. Have you played "This War of Mine"? Not the same as Banished of course but I love it personally and it does have re-playability.

It's a fun challenge to get a nice, big community running, and it will most likely take you a few tries, but once that's done, there's nothing more to do. Still, what's there is really, really well done and a lot of fun. There's also modding support out there now. But so far not a whole lot of things have been developed. But that might change in the future.

Definitely more bang for my buck with Dragonfall then, even though id like to play Shovel Knight, im poor as shit and trying to squeeze every penny haha. Thanks again.

Dark Side is in early access so I'm avoiding it.

The goal is to run to the opposite side all the way to the end, but you both die in 1 hit, and you can be disarmed, throw your weapon. It's crazy simplistic yet crazy complicated like starcraft. I saw that on steam today, it actually looks really really fun and interesting mechanics....might have to get it !

I haven't played any of them at all or anything similar. The King's Bounty games are very good, but a little formulaic. The first game, "The Legend", came out a few years back and it was really cool, very Heroes of Might and Magic with lots of classical creatures and monsters. It's more focused on the RPG aspect, so the whole town-building "teching up" part of HoMM isn't there. Instead you have an exact recreation and rebalancing of HoMM combat and skill/talent development. There are some cool boss battles as well. The combat is turn-based and hex-based and your hero doesn't actually participate personally, he just can cast one spell per turn and his equipped items enhance the fighters in your group. You and your enemy take turns moving a unit, priority depends on the unit's Initiative, higher Initiative acts first. You hire new and replacement units from places you find as you travel. You'll get the hang of it. King's Bounty: Armored Princess, Crossworlds, and all the other ones are pretty much the same thing. There's greater creature variety and rebalancing so they try to make any team composition viable regardless of race (so all lizardmen, all orcs, all dragons, all undead, all pretty equally viable if you follow that route). I would say that as a year-to-year franchise, the "expansions" if you want to call them that (they don't require the base game) are pretty weak in terms of how much completely new and original content there is. However, if you've never played a King's Bounty game before, the most recent one is going to be the most polished and overall best version of the series, as it always is.
