I got Scribblenauts mostly to play for fun with my gf, seems like the right kind of game for that. Plus that way we learn some extra english vocabulary.

Burnout Paradise is fun, probably one of the better racing titles of its genre, also it have show time mode and takedow
mode.
however, just my own opinion, since you have to driver around to activate racing events instead of just go to menu and select events, the game get boring after a while because the map, while decent, is not exactly big. So after a few hours in you feel bored driving through the same route over and over again

It probably won't be any cheaper than that. I enjoyed it quite a bit, the first episode is probably 2 hours of content depending on how fast you want to speed through it. Make sure that you are up to speed on at least Season 3 of the show, however, as it looks like this first season takes place between Seasons 3 and 4 of the show, and the open it up with a spoiler from the end of Season 3.

Basically, if you like Game of Thrones and are remotely interested in Telltale's brand of adventure games, you will probably like it quite a bit. It evokes some pretty powerful emotions in a pretty short play session, and the cameos made by characters from the show are meaningful and not purely fan service. And they actually got all of the actors/actresses to do voice acting for the game, which is pretty cool.

It was definitely worst than TWD/TWAU. I say just wait till all episodes are out and get it at 75%.

Definitely? That may be your opinion but it doesn't seem to be widely held so I wouldn't say it is definitely worse.

It's good fun, but adds minimally to the flash version Pandemic. Bought it for my gf as well, she likes to play it.

I liked Burnout: Paradise alright but it felt a bit shallow compared to my previous racing game experience with Need For Speed. You can't custom paint your cars or upgrade them or anything in B: P like you could in NFS. All of the events are on the same (tiny) map so it gets a little samey after a while. Plus, the title track is Paradise City by GnR so that's pretty awful. Additionally, the entire population of Paradise City are apparently Olympic gymnasts because they leap spectacularly out of the way, preventing the execution of any vehicular manslaughter. Lame.
Now witness their attempts to fly from tree to tree. Notice they do not so much fly as plummet.

I recently got Borderlands 2 for 5 dollars. It was well worth it and is one of the best games I've played in a while.

Not for a while. The game came out recently, so don't expect a big price drop during a sale until the season is done with all the episodes are out. Telltale Games has a good track record so far, and this game runs concurrently with the actual TV show. If you're a fan of the source material and Telltale, then this is a pretty good price right now.

Clearly great Value for that Price. I pretty much hated the Game, because I had no friends to play with and was very frustrated with the Loot-System, but I still played 85hrs of it.

For anyone still pondering on whenever they should get Sanctum 2 or not. It's a very good game, especially at it's current price. Though IMHO, the story and (to a lesser degree) the level design really goes down in quality in the last DLC.

Followup: Valkyria Chronicles hasn't crashed since those first 2 times and I began saving more. Excellent game so far, though it is quite frustrating that it features aim mechanics with built in chances to miss. I really, really hate that and prefer games that reward accurate aiming or playing probability odds and not both at the same time. The storyline is excellent so far if a bit anime-ish in the dialogue and presentation (but I like that).

Speaking of tactics games: X-COM is currently on sale, and if you don't own it, buy it. But definitely spring for the "Complete" pack for $5 more to get the expansion, it's amazing. I'm currently running a Long War campaign but getting incredibly frustrated doing so ><

FF13 has you on rails for about 4-7 hours depending on your pace, then grants you some semblance of control over your party/style, ending in a massive grind-fest if you plan to get all the trophies and/or master all of the challenges.

I thought it was decent, and it's one of the few games I have bought for PS3 outside of the Souls series . Some of the characters can be insufferable at times. If you can get beyond the first part of the game the remaining time you spend will feel much more satisfying. I've played through it twice, but it seems a lot of people find it dull or tedious. I recommend watching some let's plays to figure it out for yourself. Combat is the largest portion of the game and despite there being only 6 roles each character can play, there's quite a bit of interplay / coordination that can be achieved taking advantage of the AI.

As an example, here's a video of a guy making (what I would consider to be) the most challenging boss in the game look like his bitch just by intelligently working out how exactly to maximize his party's primary roles in combat, along with some cheap upgrades:

It's definitely a different beast from previous editions, XIII-2 takes it even further. Both can be fun if you let them be.

I had a pure fucking blast with ff13, mainly because the pretty lights and awesome music carried me through the painful, linear parts, and then by the time I looked past that I was in the open-ended part of the game and I was like "wow I had a great time here."

I also had a great time through FF13. The linear parts were fine to me, I mean, a lot of FF games remain linear through most of the story. I could tell that when it got to the open-ended section at the very end of the game that it was going to be extremely grindy and probably not very fun with lots of ultra-rare drops and stuff, so I just finished the game and shelved it. Some characters are annoying and some of the plot is ridiculous but it's a pretty game and the battle system is fun.
