and besides multiplayer, how does it fare as a single player game (poor soul always play games alone :-< )? well my taste is nothing special though, just something like metroid, cave story, dust, spelunky or braid is pretty enjoyable enough for me.

The best part is the great details on the world atmosphere. You will understand what I mean once you play it, some really weird looking characters actually reflects her mental conditions etc Combat was pretty good, few weapon options and all of them are distinctly different. very nice dress design :p Overall a great game, definitely worth that price yo thanks man, been playing for a bit now. Really like the atmosphere and the character/level design. money well spent!

Both Trine are beautiful games, they are really worth it if you like platformers and even more if you like art design. It's a dreamlike fantasy world.

Only played Trine (Trine 2 is waiting on my gog acc until I have time) and I really enjoyed it. It's a rather short game (I spent like 10 hours to complete it) but it nicely couples fun mechanics of a 2d plattformer with a great atmossphere. I would recommend it.

As mentioned, it's free and if you wanna support the developer, you can pick it up on Steam and gain access to the few, non-gamebreaking donor perks.

I enjoy the different characters and the brawling, but being a kids game and all, its not very difficult and focused on those "puzzles".

It's not out yet (and will probably take a while) but Everquest: Next might be something for you to look forward.
