I forget things. I forget the names of websites I ordered games from. I forget what username, pw and email I used. gog, d2d, even EAs clusterfuck of a steam knockoff, if it doesn't save games I've purchased to a program I will forget I purchased the games. If I buy these games eventually my hard drive will corrupt or something will happen. I'll lose the games and I'll lose my bookmarks. I won't remember the missing games until I want to play them, maybe months or years later. By then I'll have almost certainly forgotten the name of the website or my username. That's why I won't be taking part in those awesome sales. Well, the older games that is. If they sell things cheaper than steam does then I'll gladly buy them and add their cd keys to steam!

Welcome to the internet! Smart people always use the same little-modified passwort. (like polt88, polt89, PolT88...).

As I said, it's just my experience, no matter how good the deal is the convenience of having everything in one place (steam) makes occasional super deals okay to pass up on (for me)

Though admittedly I have accidental bought the same game multiple times because I didn't remember buying it previously. So there might be a point to that side as well. ![]()

I'm not remembering a piece of paper. If anyone buys ONE game from GOG, it should be Planescape: Torment. Next would be BGI and BGII, look up BGTutu and combine them / get mods and tweaks. Runner-up would be the Ultima Underworld games. Fantastic experiences, period.

But I'm going to be honest and talk about my experience in buying games digitally. I forget things. I forget the names of websites I ordered games from. Completely truthful. I bought BF3 back in July from amazon (was on sale) and I only remembered I had bought it when I went through my order history. Still havent played it...

also jade empire, the exotic bioware action-RPG. also crusader kings 2, which has a big thread on this forum and is a grand strategy game. Valve setting the mood for the big sale.
