Once we complete them all, Portal 2 will be unlocked!
I don't think it's simultaneous, I think it's just a certain amount of time invested in man-hours that's based upon how many people bought the game. So, say TWEOTW needs maybe 500 total hours of playtime (whether you're actively playing the game or not) whereas Killing Floor needs maybe 5000 total hours of playtime.

So does this mean that when people complete this 'task' Portal 2 will release early worldwide, or will it release individually for those people?

I only have 3 of those games: Meat Boy, Amnesia and KF ): Sigh...

Yeah, that seems more likely now. I was speculating a minute or two after it came out. On the previous page I started doubting the simultaneous aspect.
I'll just leave Killing Floor on when I go to work.

So, if you play, you'll help finish the objective faster. If you have any of the lesser played games on the list, I think that you should play those at this point. The big names like Killing Floor will catch up and complete before most of the others.

the marketing strategy is quite brilliant... valve loses nothing on this while bringing awareness to its other games.

It really is a great marketing strategy bringing exposure to indie games people might have not even taken a second look at. If I didn't already own a good amount of the potato sack games before the bundle came out, it would have been an instant buy for me.

They're earning money from it, getting developers happy with their distribution service, getting people to buy portal 2, and they have no significant costs.

Portal 2 for PC is now $35 at Best Buy, with a $10 in rewards points if you're a member of their (free) Gamer's Club.

I'm psyched about the coop aspect but I definitely don't want to play with randoms for fear of being trolled by everyone and their mother.
Any TeamLiquid members want to play with me when it comes out? ^^ Drop me a PM

If anyone has the games in the potato sack idle them when your not at your computer plz, even if you aren't getting the game. I want Portal 2 early share the love lol

Would be fun if I got somebody to co-op with.
Alas, sometimes I hate the fact that I am a PC gamer...

I wonder... are we positive this early launch is based on hours played? It almost seems that, judging by the potato counter at the bottom, this could be based on how many of the 36 potatoes people find in each game.
