the first planet side lost 90% of its community within 8 months... i doubt the reboot will fair any better, i myself enjoyed the first one(for about 5 months then a new FPS came out that was 5x better) honestly the idea of a FPS MMO is kinda cool.. but a FPS isn't at all considered an MMO even if they classify it as one... people don't play FPS games to interact with other players aside from putting a bullet in their avatars brain. that's why the first one fell so hard and fast, the expansions they pushed out didn't make the game last any longer... how many of u actually played planet side when the first expansion came out (i did) the new zones were near empty at all times sadly i have no hope for this game lasting longer than the first.. 1 year tops ... fighting over the same places every day gets old people, that's why FPS games try to push out new maps constantly and charge you for them...they don't get a lot of new people buying the game a lot so they make their money thru these micro purchases.

The good days of planetside before it started to fall off (and before they added BFRs) were some of the most fun experiences ever. Can't wait for this new Planetside :D

Were you in an outfit? Different opinions, but Planetside was some of the most fun I ever had in an MMO. Most top FPS players play FPS to socialize, it's not like I find CoD pubs anymore after being a top contender in PCLs.

I've never had a more fun experience then dropping on a tower and running in with the squad to clear it out. Or defending the power room for hours and hours with just a few people until ammo ran short and we got overrun. Planetside was amazing.

i remember playing planetside back in vanilla before the 5000 experience limit on a base cap, etc. i remember assaulting a base for three hours in a 500++ player battle and getting like 20k experience once the hack resolved. we had 20 maxes in the CC when we finally got in.

it was epic and i wish i could experience something like this again.

I never got a chance to play it, but I remember always thinking it looked so cool and wanting to play it. I kept trying to find trials and demos since I was too young to have money to pay fees, but no luck.

I'm excited to maybe get a chance to try this one

tbh, I think Planetside 1 was a pretty good game but released ~5 years too early.. back then MMOs weren't so popular and that's obviously pretty bad for a game that relies on "pvp".
In my opinion Planetside Next could be a great game if SOE tries to make it like Planetside vanilla gameplay-wise, but with updated graphics/mechanics etc.

I played planet site back when it was more dead it seemed but I loved it. Had a ton of fun can't wait for the next one I remember trying to defend a base for what seemed like forever having a blast

. Hope this ones better and with todays graphics should be epic ^_^

I wish they would be a little more specific about something, anything. The actual beta date, if all the subscribers get into it..maybe idk a video of 1-2 minutes of game play...just something. One screen shot every 2-3 days when it's so close to at least the beta, is a bit disheartening. They could do so much with this game if they actually advertise it, but I'm a little scared if they don't t.t .

I was a big EQ1 fan and played planetside in beta, first time I ever heard people talking on a mic. Cant wait to see what they do with this game, it is a great idea.

There's no point in "thousands of players in constant combat" if there isn't even A thousand players playing, period.

Wait, maybe the game launching will be the beta again, then after 6 months after it's fixed, then they release commercials.

It's starting to make sense.

This is why I am concerned. 12 days and no new information, when they are releasing the beta next month. I am worried for the game that COULD be the best FPS shooter yet. I don't want to change that to COULD HAVE BEEN.
