Yeah putting too much into sniping would take away rather than give back to the gameplay for BF, its never been about making everything super precise to real and if you did that then you would be taking classes to properly snipe even in a game. People should go back and watch some BF1942 to get a better idea about how the series has been, its about fun and teamwork, its not rocket science and its not a simulation. I see your point though.

the Xbox 360 Version of Battlefield 3 stands at 939,864 compared to 124,805 on the PC Version of Battlefield 3.

Pre-order numbers....

PC gamers are a disgrace, rather pirate the game. I mean Dice made this game for PC gamers when the market only cares about consoles, and this is how they get repaid.

jesus christ that's pretty abysmal numbers for the PC in comparison..

didn't think it was that heavily skewed

but i guess the obvious factor is pc power, most people prob don't have decent pcs to run the game at at medium~high+ with good fps

oh well, we get to enjoy 64caspian/firestorm/everything else :D

Getting this for pc. My new rig is designed to handle this with no problem. Console gaming is simply more popular now for the majority of gamers now, so it's not surprising more people pre-ordered the console version. Those with a little more cash to spare for an awesome gaming rig will probably enjoy it at its fullest on the pc.

your forgetting the bf2 map remakes
i personally cant wait for karkand thats basically all i played before i stopped

the numbers are skewed pretty badly, but yeah PC gamers are a minority now a days like it or not a majority of people play/have consoles. I have 3 roommates all of them own consoles i'm the only one with a desktop T_T (and plays ANY PC games for that matter, but they are jealous of the whole no 64 player support and of me being able to play Caspian in the beta ^^)

You don't call PC elites with no reason, if everyone has the capable PC, it wouldn't be elite will it? :p

I doubt its all pirating lol I mean to be fair the pc version if you want to play it you need a pretty powerful pc.

But I am curious do you have a link to your source? Just curious is all ^^.

After reading comments on that page, people were pointing out how this stats is US only, where there is a lot smaller PC gamer community compares to Europe.

There are more preorder numbers for the 360 and PS3 because those are what most people have in their house in addition to their PC

A lot of people are more comfortable with a controller than a mouse and keyboard. They also like playing in their living room than say: at a desk.

I watched some BF3 clips of some of the new maps earlier this morning, but when i saw that those were played on consoles i was interested in how that would be different to the game on pc, but after a few minutes i started laughing hard. I think i'll never understand how anybody could play such a game on a console. Especially when it comes to esports i'm wondering how anybody would willingly switch the mouse with the vastly inferior control capabilities of a game pad.
It just looks so stupid, but that's also the reason why i can't take games like Halo or CoD seriously when being played at MLG or elsewhere.

It's $42 on Amazon right now for the digital download, if anyone wants to help those paltry PC numbers.

I am pretty sure that, at least in BC2, it would also announce snipers if they barely miss someone.

Yeah, I think it's like that in BF3 as well - I've heard the sniper warning even when there were no orange dots to be seen.

Not having this game on steam pre-order also hurts those numbers alot I guess.
Atleast im gonna wait till the last day if it pops on steam rather than pre-ordering it from origin.

i doubt its going to be on steam. EA made origin to compete with steam. (i think...)

Just out of curiosity, if most PC gamers are getting the game via digital distribution then what is the point of pre-ordering? It's not like it will be "sold out" or something. It's my understanding that whether you pre-order or not you still get the digital copy at the same time anyone else would normally get it. The only advantage being whatever the pre-order bonus is, usually some map pack or skin. Console gamers on the other hand actually have to worry about potentially showing up at the store and leaving empty handed so I can see the reasoning behind pre-ordering for them.

I don't think I've ever pre-ordered any PC game except Starcraft 2 because I wanted the box. 99% of other games I'll just grab off Steam at my leisure.

My understanding is that Valve and EA were in talks to add BF3 to Steam in time for launch, and the whole debacle about all the EA games being pulled out was over some specifics relating to DLC distribution. I'm sure that if a BF3 preorder were on Steam those numbers would be significantly higher.

I feel the same way, unless I see an awsome pre order bonus and I'm sure I want the game, I don't see any point in pre ordering other then showing your support to the game, but I still rather want to wait for the reviews.
