Wow, that's just sad. Do PC gamers honestly think DICE will spend time to make PC the focus point after this game? This is one of the reasons I have become a console player (other than RTS/MOBA). All the developers understand that this is a business and their business runs better on consoles. Might as well be comfortable being a console man if that is where the games are heading.
Especially with things such as DLC. PC gamers absolutely go crazy if they think they have to pay for a map pack or something, which a team spent long hard-working hours to make.
It is really sad too, because PC is where gaming has always evolved and pushed limits and now it is slowly moving into the background.

I guess you could play it on a console instead of PC... if you really hate aiming that is

Its sad the way PC gaming is going but its really not all that bad. BF3 on PC is the superior version and is definitely not a console port. Most people just do not have PC's powerful enough to run BF3 in its full glory so they opt for console.

PC gamers are less likely to preorder because you can just download it the day of release via digital distribution, console gamers don't have that option at all, not the mention the sick deals they get for preordering from certain stores. I know that GAME in UK will let you preorder some games for like £5 and then you pay the rest after a week or something unless you give it back to the store or something like that

Do you honestly think DICE will give two shits about pre-orders post release? This game is going to sell really well. Look at the sales numbers 1 month after release, I wouldn't be surprised at all if PC had the most sales.

Not sure if serious? Maybe that is because it used to be the most normal thing in the world for companies to release additional content for free? (not speaking of add-on scale of course) That games like BF are on consoles in the first place is an abomination, but don't get me started on that. Regarding the pre-orders: what the others said.

Yeah preordering is always usually pointless and honestly you will most likely be able to get the "limited" edition of this game for months after at stores either offline in person or over the internet so that is why I assume such low numbers (also no Steam and some rumors of Steam being added sometime soon, i.e. fuck Origin :D). Also chocopaw speaks the truth about DLC, it is stupid as shit that games cost so much yet you have to pay through the nose for a few extra maps after the fact on top of having to have a top end rig, yet another reason for less preorders.
Hate being a negative nancy since I preordered and will love this game but PC gaming is a pain in the ass over console, don't see why it matters if numbers are lower personally, its not like it will really effect later games. If it does then complain then I think lol. I feel bad more for CoD players since there DLC costs fucking 15 dollars after already spending 60 on the game and they do that over and over, milking the poor bastards for all there worth just for a few different maps and game types.

And getting that bonus stuff that should be for everyone anyway doesn't hurt either. http://www.bee.com/games/pc/shoot-em-up/battlefield-3-limited-edition/Although the -20% campaign was months ago. Still, there are tons of stores that sell games for way less than steam and origin directly.
I as well have preordered a hard copy instead of the digital one because of the cost. preordered it on play.com i guess 8 months ago cause i was already sure i would've bought it (you always have the chance to cancel the preorder if you change your mind). i see that on website you just linked it costs a few pounds less than what i'm paying on play.com, but it's actually the first time i hear about that website so i'm more confident about buying it from play.com. i also get the first DLC for free, and some personalized dog-tags (not that i mind that much, but it's still something). i'll have to wait a few days before receiving the shipping, but i don't mind. so: 37€ for hard copy + DLC + other stuff instead of 60€ for a digital copy through origin + DLC. i prefere my choice.

is the battleCRAP down or something? I get a Connection Refused when I open the BF3 beta.
edit: nvm just saw it was over.

Yes, i do believe that the PC version deserves to have the most sales, but i do not think enough people have that kind of equipment to run it OR they just pirate the game anyway to beat consoles in actual $ sales. In addition, yes, companies do take pre-orders seriously, although digital services on the computer probably skew the numbers, because they are not limited by hard copies (the reason to reserve a copy anyway).

Yea, I've passed on BF3 so far since I'd need to upgrade my PC and I'm really not fond of EA so the non-Steam thing is a big deal for me. They are really dumb for going that route.

I thought they gave in and made it so it will be available on Steam

I bet you also refused to buy Sc2 because it didnt have LAN, people use the dumbest of reasons sometimes..

I wish they would fix the client side hit detection.
It was annoying as hell in Bad Company 2, doesn't seem to be any better from beta videos I have seen.

So it was a non-reason, why did he even mention it? I see all kind of shitty reasons why people wouldnt, and none of them has any merit, this guy isnt different

I would be really curious to see a list of what is different in the beta we got to play and what the game will be like when it goes live
