Walk around the mountain, going from the north side, then down in to the town. Then from the town where the arrow is pointing you just walk on to the mountain and follow the path up.
In other news, I think I gave up on trying to be all Rogue-y with swords and sneak killing. Its painfully slow and will remain that way for a long time.

hey, for some reason i cant spend my dragon souls even though i have two. It wont unlock any shouts for me no matter what i try. Anyone else having this bug?

You need to have completed the part of the main quest that involves training with the Greybeards.

Go to the magic menu, then to your shouts, then unlock them by pressing a certain button indicated by the tooltip. You can't just use them right away, you have to specifically spend your souls on certain words. I just finished that part as well and I can unlock my shouts now. If that isn't working, then you're bugged

I just bought this game. I never played an Elder Scrolls in my life but my ex use to be obsessed with it. She would play Oblivion for hours on end while I played Starcraft. I have no other connections with this series, but the internet seems to love it. I hope I do too >_<

Anyone know how to kill that troll near greybeard building? I've tried all the combat possibilities but he seems to be too powerful. Im thinking just use push to shove him off the mountain lol?
I know you dont need to kill him to finish get into the greybeard mountain quest.

Using destruction without potions I just spent a full mana bar using the lowest level fire spell, then sprinted down the hill and waited for the troll. Then I spent my mana, then spinted back up and repeated. Should work even without good destruction skill.

+ Show Spoiler +Companions mission "Trouble in Skyrim" is proving to be next to impossible on expert. The boss is tremendously powerful and has an equally powerful Dwarven Centurion. I had to do some pretty freaky stuff to kill the boss, but after saving and loading, I returned to the Centurion only to find it completely harmless. It bugged out and no longer was attacking. "kill"ing and "ressurect"ing (by console commands) did not reset it's AI. Strange, strange quest.

i doubt you are retarded as i am, but i had the same problem and realized that i had to hit the "R" button and not just click the shout. hopefully this helps, or maybe not because you'll feel like an idiot. xD

Just pay like 50 gold for a cart ride there. Or you could join the Companions in the first city (names are all similar I forgot which one).

OH THATS WHAT THE CART RIDERS DO. Last time i had to go cross country i bought a horse, got it killed along a way, explored like 3 dungeons and by the tiem i got to solitude had nfi which misc quest i was doing there and went back to whiterun ^_^

Haven't been able to play too much because of work, but so far I'm loving it! Playing a big musclebound nord that looks like someone from the band dimmu borgir thanks to the war paint, playing as a 2h warrior, not sure what else to level other than 2h and heavy armour though. I feel like blacksmithing would be good, but I'm afraid it would take out some of the fun of doing dungeons and tombs for the cool armours.
