Everyone is able to access the mafia forum from the Forum Index underneath the "Sports and Games" section.
If you are not sure you want to play, there are a few example games you can read without access to the Mafia forum. Games on the Mafia forum take 3 forms: Normal, Theme, and Mini.
Normal games use a standard set of rules and roles with small variations from game to game. An example of a Normal game is TL Mafia XXX. Mafia XXX also has a short voting thread where the players decide on the day's lynch. Finally, Ver (one of the more experienced players) was kind enough to do an analysis of the game which will help you understand the things you should be looking at when playing Mafia games.
Theme games take the original mafia framework and add twists or extra rules. One example is Pick Your Power Mafia where the players are allowed to pick their roles from a list when the game begins. But other games have worked very differently (such as a game of Diplomacy except with mafia, town roles, and lynches).
Mini games can be either Normal or Theme. They are smaller versions of the other games (larger games generally have ~30 players while Mini games usually have <15 players).
Teamliquid also has a subforum dedicated to League of Legends. This subforum is public and be viewed by anyone, it too can be accessed from this link from underneath the "Sports and Games' section.
I've played forum mafia in the past and would be interested in signing up for access. All this pokemon stuff has me a bit turned off though, but if this is like any other mafia the fact that roles are pokemon shouldn't really matter.
I'd like to have access to the mafia forum- I've played in a few forum mafias before but it looks like it is more intense here-, I'd like to learn how.
The 68 player star wars game i coming to a close, gaaawd thats getting tough. I've also hosted a fair few big games. (~6 games with ~20-45 players, a bunch more with <20)
I would like to have access to the Mafia subforum. I'm just going to lurk now, but I imagine soon enough I would like to play - would just like to read through what's going on so far to get the hang of it first.

Plexa is in charge of granting access to the Mafia forums. Since he's an admin, he's a busy guy, and has a lot of stuff on his plate. You won't be invited into the forum immediately, but he'll get around to it, rest assured.

Anyone can speak during Night phases Player with most votes gets lynched. Mafia often have multiple nightkills per cycle.
There's a lot of different games, just join us, check it out, and if you think its something you'd like to play please /in!

*shrug* Everyone does it different- but the base vanilla mafia is what I summarized. Anyone speaking during Night phases is...interesting. Mafia multikill is.......very....interesting, unless these are big games/limited kills/conditional kills/balanced with some sort of town power.
Currently I am hosting Mafia XXXVII. There are two slots remaining then the game will start a day later. If you would like to play request access here and PM me and I will add you to the list. This is a 30 person game that is considered a "Normal" set up in our forum. So if you wanted to try out mafia this is a good game to start in.

I was wondering why I still haven't had access to the mafia forum. Turned out I post in the wrong thread. So noob of me. I heard a bit about these games and want to learn how these games work.
Insane mafia 2 is a unique type of game. Unlike regular mafia, the setup is purposefully hard to understand. It is a semi-revealed setup. A few roles and mechanics are revealed.
The Factions
Green Town- These are the normal townies. Well, not so normal. Every single townie has a power. So there like super townies, but very squishy.
Red Mafia- These are the baddies. Backed by a global criminal organization, they use their power to rampage around the town, trying to kill everyone. They have a lot of killing power and blast away at everyone till no one is left
Black Third Party- This is the hidden faction. Backed They all are bulletproof so they don’t die so easily
Blue Police Force- This is the pro town mason circle. In a world full of reds and blacks, the greens need some help, and help comes in the form of the big guns. Of course, the police can’t actually kill people, but they have their own way of helping.

The Item Game

The mini game of robbery and greed! Every person in the item game is given one item. and during the night you may submit one of three actions 1. Defend (You can’t get Robbed) 2. Use (You can use one of your items) 3. Rob (Steal someone’s item)
Beware! If you try to use your item but get robbed, the robber will take your item and you won't get to use it! (If you have two items, the robber will only take the one you aren’t using.)
Item game participants may PM each other. But beware! There is one mafia and one third party member wanting your blood.
And if you win the item game, all the items will be given to your faction and you guys can use one of them per day! Interested? Just PM me (LSB) saying you want to join in and I'll make sure we reserve you a spot! Don't worry, we won't leave without you!
Please be advised mafia games require you to be fairly active.

You already do. The way I access it is by searching 'Ryze' in the search bar, going to the Ryze thread, and then clicking the League of Legends forums.

I'm not sure what you're asking for with regard to screen shots, we have a few threads in the mafia forum listing funny moments if that's what you mean.
I read through the mafia XXX thread and it seems like an interesting idea still don't fully understand it though. Would be interested in watching and at a later date playing.

Alive and kicking, we have a game moving towards the endgame and two games in the early stages right now, with more scheduled to start relatively soon.
I would absolutely love to play Mafia, I just read the XXX thread and ver's analysis completely, it sounds amazing. Could you please grant me access to the forum?

The games that you find are probably the ones that were either made before the subforum was made/hidden or the ones specifically made public. We have 3 games at the moment, a mini, a theme, and a normal, and more on the list of upcoming games.

I can only assume that you just haven't been given access. When you DO gain access, you can use the forum index to locate it, as the OP said. If you have access, you will find the Mafia subforum between the General Forum link and the Featured Threads link, both of which are fairly close to the top of the page. You'd only have to scroll down a little bit to find them.
I'm going to host a large game aimed at noobies but before I do I'm gonna PM someone who will grant access to all you people here. If you wanna be added but haven't posted yet I'd do that ASAP so you get access with this wave.

Any chance of getting a Skyrim Subforum? Diablo 3 has it, and it's only like 1/2 half the size with 1/4 the things to do. The Skyrim thread is starting to get too big to be of any real use to anyone in terms of helpfulness. Any mod who has played it yet knows exactly what I'm talking about
