Does anybody know why I cant log into anything? When i try to log into the alpha it says im not premium... And i dont even see a place to change servers?

Do you own a legal copy of the game? Sounds like you're either using a pirated version, or the free version. You need to buy the Alpha version. It's ~$13USD

Just worked with a few guys to make some sweet lighting in the Cave of Big Things. Some people are talking about extending it, which would be awesome.

From what I've understood, you need to be on the whitelist to join the server. Helps keeping out griefers.

Actually I ran a 8gb-ram server for like 5 people and it got crazy laggy to the point where it had to be restarted every hour or so. The problem happened to be explosions and fire/tnt I assume. Lots of servers lag for some reason, that is just how unstable Minecraft is in SMP's current state.

Although the huge servers like Reddit's and 7chan's don't usually lag, but I'm sure it is because they are running it on monstrous servers.
