Undying does not come back if you actually kill it with the black sun. +1 and -1 counters cancel each other when state based effects are checked, and when you black sun a, say, strangleroot geist for 2, when states are checked, it has 2 -1 counters and 1 +1 counter. Since it will die, it dies with the +1 counter on it, before they are canceled.

but a strangleroot is a 2/1 so a black sun for 1 would ultimately make it unable to comeback? that's what we're discussing.

I understand that fact a black sun for 2 wouldn't allow it to return but when exactly lethal is used does that negate undying as well?

If it died from a BSZ without the +1 counter it will come back. When statebased actions are checked, it checks that it has no +1 counter on it and so will return it onto the field via undying. Since -1 counters are removed as it hits the graveyard it will come back.

Its not the same as regenerate with a +1/+1 counter.

It comes back as a different card so all the effects it had on it or things targetting it are on the old undying creature. I remember that was another reason why persist was annoying.

Oh wow, i bought 20 packs of DKA and got 2 sorin, havengul lich and a mikaeus.
Then the following day, i went for a swiss draft and won with a Strong R/U deck. Got a sorin from the prize pack.
A total of 3 sorins in 2 days , lucky me.

And i found out Markov Warlord is such a sick limited card. It pretty much wins game for you the moment you cast it.
It was my first pick in 1st pack as the rare wasnt a good bomb at all, Seance i believe.

If people haven't saw, there is a fantasy Pro Tour on facebook. You pick a card from each type (planeswalker, large creature, medium creature, small creature, instant, sorcery, enchantment, artifact, and non-basic land) that you think will be good during the Pro Tour. For each count of your selected cards in the decks that do well (my guess is decks that cash or maybe top 8 only) you get the point value.
Check this out and we can see who is the best on TL after!

I was playing against a friend, man, grimgrim and gravecrawler, its disgusting to play against. I made it worse, cause I was using a sealed deck (8 boosters cause its just us friends) from DA only, and he was using one from DA/Innistrad so I somewhat didn't have much remove, but still, was gross to play against.

Grimgrin is not really an good sac outlet to use since he is a 5 drop. In constructed I would say the best sac outlet right now is disciple of griselbrand, since it is only limited by mana, and is a 2 drop.

Just won an 8 man pod with rare redrafting, got a sorin and a dual land...
There was a sorin, lilliana, snapcaster, geist, huntsmaster, foil gravecrawler and a pair of dual lands. I have never seen that many money cards in 24 packs. Apparently casting hellrider every game is a good way to win a draft though.

You can download MTGO from the Wizards of the Coast website here

Software is free, but you have to buy digital cards, just a warning it can get pretty pricy if you want to be competitive..

I'm having a really tough time deciding what I want to play with Dark Ascension out.

I really liked where Esper Control was headed, and I really like where it's positioned right now but I'm leaning more and more toward UB but I don't want to fork out the money for Lilianna. I'm looking at a build that is more focused toward UB(w) for O Ring and Elesh Norn, but I don't think that's correct at all. I might just run the same esper list(UW[b]) I have been running until the meta settles out and figure things out from there.

Edit: I was really leaning to UB(w) more for the fact you can run more untapped black sources and have access to tragic slip, so I don't have to run stupid stuff like gut shot.

Edit2: the other deck options I was looking at were RB Vampires and Esper spirits. I really like the idea of RB vamps but I think that might take the last set to be really good. Right now you have to run Stormblood berserker because you lack good two drops that are vampires.
